Pittsburgh, Pa.
Like hit your tee shot two counties to the right then walk out 250 yds and mutter to yourself, "I'm gonna' play the first ball I find".Then, while everyone else is in the fairway (50 yds from where you are), yell, "Here it is! I found it! It musta' hit a tree or somethin'".

No, even though I have wanted to. If you really respect the game cheating should never cross your mind.

i play 'winter rules' so i never cheat.

:0corn

the only cheating i do is improve my lie but that's not cheating in 'winter rules' ;)

if i'm playing somebody for money and the agreement is not touching the ball, i don't touch the ball.

guess what? it doesn't really matter that much.

what kind of cheating are you talking about?

lying about your score? :nono:

i wouldn't consider doing that. you're only cheating yourself.

i don't do mulligans :mj07:

i'll pick up a 3 foot putt if the guys give it to me unless i have a good score going and then i'll putt it out.

i don't want to shoot a good score if it isn't "REAL". geesh.

i do, however, improve my lies so therefore i am cheating

Winter rules are totally acceptable when it comes to improving your lie.

I think most 'cheating' goes on with Best Ball/Scramble type of tournaments. That's just Bullshit.

As far as Mulligans go, I play one per nine at any time ( hey! that rhymes).

Hell yes you are cheating. If you are "posting" scores based on not playing the ball down your handicap is way off. I would say rolling the ball could save you 5-10 shots per round EASY. Especially around the greens, it makes a HUGE difference.

If you said I could roll the ball everywhere, or have 5 mulligans, I would pick roll the ball, EVERY time.

No I don't blame you. And if everyone in your group says ok then it's fair game and more enjoyable.

I'm just saying that is the very top of the cheating ladder, rolling your ball. That is the #1 sin and most helpful to improving scores.

I like the guys who pick the ball up and glance quick "to see if it's them", anly to set it back in a perfect lie:mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

Of course not in a scramble you goof. But I do adhere to the "scorecard" and "same cut of grass" rule, unlike others.
