I seem to remember a pro game where the kick returner did not cover the ball in the EZ and the kicking team ran down and recovered it for a TD.

This was somewhat recent, as in the last 10 years or so.

Dont have many details but I do remember one of the teams was the RAMS. Actually, think they were the home team.

I have seen it in college many times and just assumed it was the rule, dead ball. I remember seeing that TD for the pro game and remember wondering what the deal was. Happens in college all the time and only once seen in my eyes in the pros.

I have to say different rules. College is a dead ball and pro is a live ball. What do I know though.

Chase is correct and everyone has hit on it.

For College the ball is dead once it crosses the goal line, so no need to cover.

NFL, never touched it is a live ball.

So, don't be like McNabb and not knwo the rules, one day a rookie kick returner is going to let the ball go into the end zone in the NFL, run off the field and wonder why is was jettisoned the next day!!!

Actually, I was incorrect on the McNabb situation, I either forgot, or do not remember ever knowing a regular season can end up in a tie!! Oh well, take that for what it is, and I am a former small college and HS coach!

Now 24 replies and 300 something views????????????? For this piece of shit thread???? Sheesh. Pretty soon we are going to have to slide the lips of everyone on this forum to a corner to break the seal on your ass?!?!?

Personally, I am disgusted. What ever happened to pride?

Remember Jack there are no such things as stupid questions, only stupid questions.

Hope this helps,
