when you listen to a cd, tape, lp, or eight track in DJV's case, :D , do you listen to the entire thing? Let's say it is in the cd player in your vehicle and on a song that is not your favorite, do you skip to the fave depending on distance to travel or present radio content? If after you hear your song or if you don't switch what is the general length of listen you give to said cd, and if bored with the song will you change the cd and go straight to a fave song? Do you listen to your newer cd's much more than the older ones?
I do not think there could be a more frivolous topic I realize that, yet I was sitting here pondering whether or not to grab a washcloth as a shower is in my immediate plans. I am normally a soap on skin man myself. Just recently, however, I experimented with the washcloth and found the scrubbed clean feeling to be somewhat invigorating and am thinking of making it habit. Which may also sound frivolous, yet truth be told, is just another in the long laundry list of life changing decisions I make all day long. Yea, my life just seems complicated, but normally I don't have to make big decisions until well after 12p, after nap time of course.

I am a soap on a rope guy myself. Never really a big fan of the washcloth technique as i usually end up with sht stains on it and then have to listen to the ole lady nag about laundry time. I dont use shampoo either tho.. just a bar of soap across the ole nugget and I am content.

As for the radio, I usually just put in aCD and let it play thru. After a while I may hit random mode to give myself a lil variety of the songs, but otherwise I suffer through the crappy songs so I dont get too worn out too quick of the better singles.

The hang the soap on the dick, I mean neck is great way to go. Being a old 8 track listner it's hard to bend over to pick the soap up all the time. So it must be on the roap.
I to like to listen to the complete CD. Yes I have some CD's. Where I really like them is on a trip when your going to sit in the car 4/5 hours or more. Now my oldest grandaughter. Differant story. Each CD has about 2 songs that just get hammerd over and over. Oh what fun being 11 can be.

I am a recent convert to the wash cloth technique. It probably has something to do with having someone around that does laundry on a regular basis, though.;) I have really felt more refreshed from showers now that I use a cloth.

I am a big fan of the random button on a CD player. Even CDs that I burn need to be changed around every now and then. Most of the time I listen to music through my computer, though. It's just easier. Road trips are the one occassion that you must have CDs. There is actually an art to making great road trip CDs. Adjusting for the distance, mood of the trip, the other occupants, and of course what's new on the scene.

Great frivilous topic!:D

Soap?

CD's?

I have found that if you listen to all the songs on a cd at least one time that you will find more enjoyment out of your music than the old repeat a song untill it makes you puke routine! Also, I can not stand the old wash rag! Just use a bar of soap or some shower gel and the old hand will do the rest! It is a much more enjoyable and personal experience!

Hey it is my soap and my water and I will wash it as fast as I want! ;)

Cds and music: I find that certain Cds are arranged in a particular order and listening to the whole thing is necessary to gain the true experience (especially Pink Floyd and REM). Although if time restrains or mood music (before a game/special lady music) is necessary I find myself playing the appropriate song at that time.

Soap: My old lady doesn't buy deodorant soap. I have to make a special trip to the store for it or I have to use her ?girl smelling liquid body wash?. Washcloth or not this shit is horrible. It doesn?t clean squat and you end up smelling like a fruit.

On the course!
Very rare is the CD that I like all the songs on. I will listen to most straight through just because I am too lazy to hit the advance button.

when u listen to Metallica, all the songs are good, so this is not a problem.

fyi....most of their drum tracks are edited with pro tools....kinda like how wannabe singers who can't really sing have their voices "enhanced"....lars may be a great businessman....BUT....leaves a lot to be desired in terms of proficiency!!!

:)

They edit the drum tracks on Metallica? Son of a........ I didn't know that.

Compilation cds are ok but if you don't have a cd burner or a dsl you are kinda screwed, like me. Plus Blue when I wash fast like that.......it makes it sting when I go pee later....I think the soap has something to do with it......

Rod, got your message and will call tonight when I get home from work

they sure do, brother!!!

for a lot of the bands/music out there nowadays.....it's all about the image/$$$....rather than substance!!!

:)

another quick fyi to all....

everyone raved about the strokes' platinum album which was recorded on a miniscule budget and kicked some serious ass....BUT....what most people don't know is that what ended up being released was actually their "demo"....they were given a tonne of money to record a "proper" studio album which ended up sucking ass and was scrapped....that's why the initial one was released instead....and voila....it all worked out in the end!!!

:D

Music depends. Some artists have great songs all the way through (Alanis Morrissette, No Doubt, Dokken, Michelle Branch). Some have 1 good song then sh*t (Sheryl Crow, Cher, Soul Asylum, Smashmouth)

Soap, I need a washcloth otherwise I always feel like I have this film covering my whole body but mostly I use one of those round plastic thingies....don't know what they're called but they supposedly remove all the dead skin as you wash

whatever, I guess you've never seen them in concert. Sounds the same live, even better than it does on cd. I've seen bands live to know which ones have talent and which ones don't. I've seen Metallica play 5 times (2.5-3 hours each time), and they haven't missed a beat/chord yet.

If the tracks are edited, it is just the new stuff. They rock, no way around it. No trash songs, they're all good.

i will listen to the cd from beginning to end. as yyz pointed out, i'm also too lazy to make any changes.

marine,

this is about the 3rd or 4th time that you have made references about shit stains. i think that you have to change your wiping techniques or maybe go a little deeper.(lol)

You can always use a Huggies ass, I mean baby wipe for the cleanup stains. My friends with children have used these for years and swear my them. I told them to market the adult brand and making a fortune but they said it wouldn't catch on. And now ofcourse Charmin and several others sell these.

Pat,
if Alanis Morrissette endures nearly as long as the multi-talented Cher then I will kiss your bare ass on the cliffs of dover at sunset on the eve of the summer solstice wearing a bunny suit. There are many levels of talent and many of those you mentioned as talented I cannot agree with......Dokken, Michelle Branch..? Hey did you notice that three of the four artists you like have repeating consonants in their name, and the others don't...and your handle is patsjamm .....hmmmmmmmm....

but mostly I use one of those round plastic thingies....don't know what they're called but they supposedly remove all the dead skin as you wash

.....an orbital sander? What are we talking about washing here?:D

Marine,
Maybe you should get one of those things pat has for your little clean-up problem. You know it may be because of other reasons that you are having these problems? Do you have a rain forest of cover down there? Did you sit in some spilled Rogaine? I trim mine, personally. You have to keep after it a little but hell it always seems to put me in a good mood. Two of the walls in my master bathroom, three including the full length over sinks, and my closet doors are all mirrored. It was like that when the ex and I bought it, kinda sucked. The ex wasn't exactly a go getter to start with but after one particularly sudsy night out we came home and decided to give her a go. It was her great idea to go into the master bath with the mirrors. Long story short I happened to glance over to the side mirror and got a profile......wow.....thank goodness shes a closed eyer.....looked like a land manatee with tattoos having its way with a bunny. Hell it made me lose the edge........Geezus......Ever since then I got back in the gym......still look like crap but I just don't have sex in that bathroom anymore...plus I am divorced anyway.....told the last girl they were old carnival mirrors made you look fat or skinny and stuff or short....anyway...get in front of the mirror and squat like you are going to poop on a flat rock, then with your good hand take a beard and mustache trimmer with a little guard on it and give the cookie cutter a trim. Not too short...stubble will send you to the madhouse....that way the next time you "take the Browns to the Super Bowl" a good wipe or two and then a little dab with a wetnap and you are good to go.
