You're right about one thing for sure. Just follow a simple order. In our society, order us defined by the law. The first order of police is to protect the innocent not body slam them. The officer's second order of the day would have either been to investigate complaints of a fight between two adults or to investigate a noise disturbance, not body slam them.Just follow a simple order and none of this would have happened. It's not that hard.
It's not about black or white, young or old. It's a trend in our society. Many just go out of their way to challenge authority.
The officer obviously should have used a different approach, but I cannot side with the girl in this case.
Now what about the people that want to press charges against the officer? What the fuck do you want? You want money? You want the guy to be arrested? You want him to do some time to teach him a lesson? Dude has already quit his job and has his family in hiding. What exactly do these people want, but more importantly, WHY?
His third order is to maintain professionalism and maturity when dealing with those you're charged to protect, just line all the other officers did, sans one.
I expect the law and justice to be equally and equitably enacted upon all law breakers. I don't expect to have to "be complicit without question and careful beyond reason" around police because they don't have to follow the rules.
There is no need for someone to tell us if it ya okay to walk down the street and run your mouth when it is clearly written in the bill of rights, however we may need clarification on which professions can break the law just a little bit. It has to be allowed only as long as we can point our fingers at some group, religious, cultural, or whatever and diminish then more by blaming them for something we didn't even see happen.
