What website?

Shutdown was probably the wrong word. They were removed from Google search with the following notice:

In response to a complaint we received under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, we have removed 3 result(s) from this page.

So if you have the address then it probably still works, but I think I'm gonna pass for now. I thought the address was gearstv.com, which does nothing right now. You can get to gearstvnow.com which looks to be the same thing, but it's all pretty shady at this point.

Omarsvideos is THE direct source. Anything other than that, you leave yourself subject to scams. But be sure the product is flawless.

Are either of you using a VPN?

I'm using a VPN, i just feel better having it on, its cheap protection.
Gearstv is working great and will be renewing in 2 weeks. I have free Directv till next Sept and will decide then to dump it. In the mean time i will keep trying Gear monthly.

I don't watch TV much and haven't touched it all week. I'm going to hook it up on the TV my wife watches and the report I get from her will be the report you want. I'll try out NFL Sunday ticket for the afternoon games tomorrow after I get back from the wing joint.

You can't go wrong getting one anyway, you definitely will want to keep it. Just don't go pulling the plug on cable yet. I'll give you the wife report next week.

Do you have a report? How was the NFL Sunday Ticket?

Sunday Ticket perfect picture with no buffering but it runs about 4 minutes behind live TV.

Keep in mind my internet speed is like 450 megs right now so that might be why no buffering.

Correct.

Get one then decide. I'm still dragging my feet but will definitely be pulling the plug on Comcast.

I just got around to installing this morning so I'll report back how college football is today. I've got pretty fast internet so if it fails I'm out less than $65 for the effort. Worth the risk.

After a day+ of watching this I can say the following good:

1. Buffering is not an issue, at least for me and that's on wireless.
2. It's just a stupid amount of options for the price.
3. Mayfair is a must

I can also say the following bad:

1. The picture is nowhere near as good as my DirecTv. Maybe I have something set wrong but even when I clearly select a channel broadcast in 1080 I get a picture that looks more like old SD than 1080. This isn't a wireless issue as I'm not getting buffering at all.
2. The picture will get jagged at times.
3. Not having the ability to "start from the beginning" kinda sucks. You have to start watching a show/movie whenever it's scheduled and can't be even a couple minutes late.
4. No DVR is a deal breaker for the wife.

Overall if you want the sports packages without paying $100+ each it's certainly worth every penny and more, but I personally don't see it as a replacement for DTV just yet.

Adding to the list of bad:
5: Mayfair guide doesn't load today, just a white screen.

If I didn't know better I would think the picture is better. It's just perfect.

I'm watching the Bears game now and it's right on time.

There are add ons that you can watch any show from any season. It's like a dvr. Better because it has no commercials .
