Above the Clouds....
This is my year 2008 to get back to the doctors. I havnt been unless I had to for over ten years.

Tommorrow my wife is going to have a colonoscopy at 0630 . They gave her a gallon of this stuff to drink. It tastes terrible and she started throwing it up. She had drank about a quart I think. So we call the Doctor and he tells her ok then go and buy a over the counter product she could take instead. It was five bucks. The gallon of crap was 15 bucks.

Anyway she is up on the toilet now. I guess it works.

I have promised her I would get one before the year is out.

My step mother who is in her 60s and was a nurse, did not choose to get a colonoscopy like most of us do. She should have noticed something was not right . She had pain in her stomach and was rushed to the hospital. They had to take out a portion of her colan that was clogged tight. She almost died from it :scared

So get that one set up also Jack.

Glad your still with us.

Scott i went for a colonoscopy when I was 50. The prep was the worst part. I had to drink a gallon of the stuff, my wife had a different Doc and only had to drink about 8oz.
The procedure is no big deal!

Jack, glad you are okay. Reminds me of a joke I heard a long time ago.
Man starts choking in a restaurant. 2 gay men get up and one starts licking the others butt in front of the choking man. This repulses the choking man so much that he spits out the food he was choking on. The gay men look at each other and say. "Yeah, that hiney-lick manuever always works. :nono:

had the surgery about 10-12 years ago.

Worst 2 weeks of my life recupping but it worked great. I sleep great, meaning I get a restful sleep. I used to be go damn tired in the middle of the day. I caught myself falling asleep driving a time or two and knew i had to do something.

The sleeping at the sleep center was a pain but showed i stop breathing over 100 times a night. i had both nose problems as well.

Had tonsils removed, part of my soft palate, and a deviated septum repaired. Had it done with a laser

basically counld not swallow for two weeks without pain. Ate mostly a couple of spoonfuls of ice cream a day. lost about 30 pounds.

Not really. Dads actually sounds kinda like this white noise fan that we use to sleep. Drowns out everything else. All it does is blow air in your throat to keep it open. To me, that's better than having a laser go hacking away at you.:com:

Only downfall is when my dog Ziggy stays with them sometimes, he just lays on my Dads chest all night and stares at him and his mask:mj07:

I told my Mom, never in a million years would they get my Dad to wear one of these. He starts checking around at the Golf Club and it turns out like 5 of his buddies wear one and just never mentioned it. Dad was apprehensive to say the least but after 2 days he felt like he was 20 years old again. He honestly felt like a new person!
