Hey guys....just got home. All I can really say is.....

HOLY SHIT

I think a close second to the thrill of hitting a hole in one was seeing Nole. You would have thought he hit the ball himself. But that just speaks to the guy he is. And Skipper got his free beer...which speaks to the type of guy he is..... :toast:

To be honest, when I hit the ball and saw it tracking to the hole, I was yelling for it to get down. I felt like I nutted that 7 iron. Since it was cold and I had played that hole a couple of times already, I had a good idea of what to hit. When we heard the noise, it honestly sounded like it killed the pin. But I really thought once we got up there, I'd see it in a bunker. No way did I think it drilled straight in. Thought maybe I just hit the flagstick halfway up. As Nole and I drove up to the green, he just kept saying..."I don't see it yet...I don't see it yet." Once I got about 10 feet from the hole, I had a good idea it might be in since I saw that massive divot on the back lip. I let myself get excited at that moment.....then I looked in....and there it was. Unreal feeling, guys.

I've been playing golf since I was 5 years old. I've had a few close calls....but I've never even holed out a shot from more than like 50 yards before. So to do something like this, with this group of guys......a truly special moment.

Thanks for being there guys!!!

One funny thing....and this was my big WTF moment. I teed off on the next hole with the "hole in one ball." And I had actually hit the ball in the water hazard on that hole the day before. So I could have easily hit that ball into the abyss. What a bonehead move that would have been......I realized my error before I hit my 2nd shot....and promptly switched balls. :0074

As his teammate, that was the first thing I thought of. FREE BEER!!!

Seriously, unreal to see it, and it couldn't happen to a better guy.

WTG BART!!!:00hour :00hour :00hour :00hour :00hour :00hour :00hour :00hour :00hour :00hour :00hour :00hour :00hour :00hour

I think another funny part was once I got the ball outta the hole....I look back, and you still have to hit your tee shot. Nole and I kinda just left you to fend for yourself back there. :mj07:

Hell, you knew the yardage at that point :00hour

Gary, Mark and I were on the Par 5 one hole behind them and we heard the boys start yelling from the Par 3. Very cool indeed.

I can vouch that Bart took care of the beer!

Thanks to Skipper for making the tee times and putting me and Teresa up for the night. Had a great weekend playing golf and watching the Tide whip up on the Viles.

I'll write a big thank you and a weekend wrap up post tomorrow. There was a lot of fun to the weekend....the hole in one was just a big part of it for me. I'm just tired now. Gonna hit the hay.

Thanks again fellas for all the congrats :toast:

What did you shoot for the round? I'm sure the booze consumption picked up after that shot! :toast:

Sucks you messed up your round by incurring a 2-stroke penalty due to that switching of the ball in the middle of the round.
