If Whittington dies, should Cheney be charged and prosecuted?

It's funny that this long-time pol, probably the most influential man in this administration, Dick Cheney, would bumble this incident on a PR level as much as he did. Confounding, to say the least. The old saying goes: It's not what you say, it's HOW YOU SAY IT. Trouble is, Cheney and his office are barely saying anything! Perception is everything.

No problems for V P this fellow walked in front of his gun. Why did Dick start using guns anyway. He avoid them for 6/7 years as a young man staying out of the service. He must have been against guns then.

No DJV, I am sure he was in favor of guns then too. He also supported the war too as long as someone else was fighting it.

The media got to be thestupidest people on earth--
Saw questions after the fact became known -my 2 facs

"will he resign?"
"Has be been charged with criminal conduct"

My question-- is a GED equivalent a requirement to be a member of the press?

No. But to be a pro-Bush White House reporter, owning a gay porn/escort site a la JEFF GANNON aka JIM GUCKERT is!

Remember this doozy? --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Gannon

why was the media not in full scale uproar when Teddy K had his ordeal?

Or how about Vince Foster???

The incident was reported to the police right away. Why would they report it to these media vultures???? Ever heard of HIPPA?

Good grief...it was a hunting accident. My best friend almost got his leg blown off by his brother. would you leftists think that was involuntary manslaughter?

What was the reason the secret service would not let Cheney talk to the local police until the next day? What was the reason the story was not reported to the media until the landowner called a local newspaper the next day? Couple this with the fact that the landowner stated that there was some drinking going on (Likely Cheney), and you have very wreckless behavior by Cheney. The likely reason for the delay in reporting this incident is that CHENEY WAS DRUNK! If he wasn't drinking then come clean and talk to the police right away and report the incident immediately. Of course you right wing nuts will bring up Clinton to disprove that Cheney could do anything wrong. Feel free, the great doctor has already done it. Too funny that the great Republican spin machine has already tried to blame this on the victim.....You've got to be kidding me.

If he dies it is manslaughter and Cheney should go to jail. Will he? Of course not, he is above the law.

Stick to medicine doctor you don't know law.

It's the law to report the incident to the authorities, at least to the wildlife officials and perhaps the police.

Furthermore, this incident directly involved the VP. If HE was the one injured, don't you think the White House would've been on top of it? The press is upset about the chain of events. Leave it to a local paper and the ranch owner to tell it to the public. Rather pathetic. Being in PR and advertising, I can say it was mishandled. Should've been more forthcoming even if details would've been sketchy.

EVEN ARI FLEISCHER AND MARLON FITZWATER AGREE THAT IT SHOULD'VE BEEN REPORTED BY THE WHITE HOUSE SOONER!

Regarding the press, what about when Chandra Levy went missing in the midst of a relationship with Democratic congressman Gary Condit?

Or what about those rumors (and I'm not talking about Gennifer Flowers) swirling around Bill Clinton as he was running for President, being promoted by conservative and right-wing media outlets?

The media loves a good scandal, that's for sure.

IT WAS A HUNTING ACCIDENT AND YOU DONT GO TO THE MEDIA UNTIL THE FAMILY IS INFORMED YOU FOOL!!!!! PLUS THERE ARE PATIENT PRIVACY RIGHTS AND YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THAT EITHER!!!!

The wool has been pulled over your eyes for too many years. It's time to wake up! This administration has zero credibility. They are like the boy that cried wolf. Your blind faith in everything this administration says/does is hard to believe from someone who is so educated. I noticed you didn't respond to some of my main points...... I expect that from the Bush sheep. There is no explanation for not immediately meeting with the police or the landowner's comments about drinking other than the explanation I provided.

you made no points dumbass

your only "point" is hearsay, insinuation, etc. etc....i guess they are "points" in your own mind for whatever that is worth to a misled jester

if you only knew how wrong the media was everytime there is any kind of investigation in even the smallest of circumstance you might not be so ignorant...i also know people who personally hunt with the Veep as he goes to my hometown on average a couple times a year

however, quit trying to learn from a professional and keep your head in the sand

obviously, from your above remarks, you seem to be the type that has no hope to escape your delusional and drawkcab thinking

the media does nothing but hinder grief, healthcare, investiagations, and everything else except creating a feeding frenzy which is all they are good at

Under Texas law a hunting accident doesnt have to be reported to anyone unless a death is involved.

Anyone thinking Cheney will or should be charged is absolutely clueless. Joe Blow wouldnt get charged either.

And if the administration was trying to hide anything, it wouldnt have been too hard to get someone else to be the fall guy for the shooting.

That was actually my first thought, as well. I not entirely familiar with it, but there have been times that injuries couldn't be reported to me because of this.

Of course one HAS to bring up the possibility of preferential treatment if someone of privilege or tremendous power faces a scenario such as this. .

"preferential" treatment?

in any other situation, there would be a solemn handling of the situation in a professional manner

this has evolved into a circus

not sure what kind of "preference" the Veep is getting but i know that i wouldnt want any of it

yes, you can't just go waving a flag out to the public until all the avenues have been addressed regarding HIPPA

also, the family does not want to learn of this situation from the media, so extra care should have been taken as to not to incite (what has been incited) in no hurry

unfortunately, this is already way out of the bag and its outrageous
