If Whittington dies, should Cheney be charged and prosecuted?

Trying to create scandals is nothing new, and nothing to do with the Republicans being in office. Same thing happens when a Democrat is in the White House.

Well we agree on this to a point. The left leaning mainstream press will always being trying much MUCH harder to stir something up against the right than they will against one of their own.

C-town - I disagree. The media goes for stories no matter what. They compete with each other for stories and money much more than conspire to promote some side. It's dog eat dog for them, they are not going to sacrifice profit share for an ideaology.

You can always point to examples why particular papers or stations seem to lean one way or another, but nothing is held back when money is at stake. A good example would be how ALL TV STATIONS were the biggest cheerleaders for the invasion while it was going on. If there was some liberal conspiracy, then there wouldn't have been reporters embedded in practically every mobile unit.

When it comes down to it, it's all about money. And hey - you have choices - it's not like Fox News or AM Radio isn't mainstream. They are just as powerful as anyone else.

That's true now about Fox, but until they came on board the big 4 was a monopoly for the leftest elites and they certainly controlled the slant of reporting. Just look at how hard and dedicated they were to getting Nixon and the numerous non pursuits of the many clinton administration's scandals, file gate, lying under oath, and who can forget National Security head sandy steal classified papers burger. could go on and on.

But with Fox now able to give an alternate view and another side of the story, it is a little better.

But we still have the Rathers (why did he lose his job) and the NBC crew who just a few short years ago were found falsifying data on the newsmagazine show to make it seem worse than it was on some stories. How soon we forget as now they are hailed as such a great and objective news organization. What a joke, if Fox gets caught doing that we would never hear the end of it, just like we never hear the end of big bad Nixon. some 40 years later, completely by passing all the clinton crap that went on for 8 years.

Call me crazy ("you're crazy!"), but I seem to recall the news reporting the various Clinton scandals pretty heavily, and that everything that ever happened was a "scandal" or some kind of "-gate." And Monica Lewinsky, Jesus Christ, that story dominated the news for months, and that whole thing had very little to do with running the country. The Lewinsky story had SEX and ADULTERY in it, and people ate it up - Republican/Democrat didn't matter, it was ratings.

Let me put this another way so you will understand. If the clinton scandels had been done by G W Bush they would have pursued it until he was impeached and convicted, it would not have even been close. It would have been Nixon II.

No need to be a condescending prick, I don't think I've spoken to you that way. It's impossible for you to know this about what would happen if the tables were turned, just speculation at this point. Hopefully, we will get to found out and you will be proven right.

I'm not a huge Clinton defender, but I'm not sure it's fair to compare Nixon's actions after Watergate with Clinton lying about getting a blowjob. If you were married to a scary woman like Hilary, you would lie about it, too!

Maybe Cheney should be held accountable for talking to either the sheriff or his deputees at some point during the 14 hour period after a man was shot, and not sending out his Secret Service detail to prevent them from talking to him. Maybe this is highly suspicious, coming from a man known to at least bend the truth to his needs, and at worst a complete liar. Maybe this is highly suspicious coming from a man who admitted later that he had "one beer" and who has DUI's on his permanent record. A man who has severe heart trouble and is on blood thinner for it, which accentuates the affects of alcohol. Someone who broke ranks from the hunting party and shot BACKWARDS, and not to the front of the party, which is common hunting safety procedure.

Maybe there should have been questions answered. And not on Brit Hume's frikken campfire show, either. What a complete joke.

And maybe he should not have sent out a family member of one of the biggest fundraisers in his campaigns and people who made him a millionaire in the process to face the music for him.
