NOTE- there were 389 people that reported making over 1 million last year. I got to think that figure of actual millionaires is more in the thousands. The good ones hide their income you know that right DTBlackgumby ?

The IRS increased its audits of taxpayers earning between $1 million and $5 million by about 45% last year to 18,585, from 12,746 in 2008, according to data released last month. The agency also performed 17% more audits of taxpayers who earned between $5 million and $10 million last year (2,090 versus 1,784) and 9% more among those earning $10 million or more (1,473 versus 1,347).

I must have read it wrong. Looks like alot of the millionaire club.

These are the people that DTBlackgumby wants to protect and nurture. Even though they wouldnt spit on his shoes if he needed a shine.

We call that a Detroit bank roll Scott-
-on millionaires in U.S.

The U.S. Internal Revenue Service audited 8.36 percent of Americans reporting more than $1 million of income in fiscal 2010, the highest rate in the agency?s recorded history.
The agency said today it conducted face-to-face audits of 16,509 millionaires and mail audits of 15,985 millionaires in the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30. That?s an increase of almost 2 percentage points from a year earlier.

My Jethro Boudine cyphering would make that 388,000 and change millionaires in U.S. :)

Under a mask.
Except that your "fact" as above is not a fact at all.

Your "expert" totally ignores the FACT that the hypothetical car buy is now the owner of a $10,000 car, and has increased his net worth by $10,000 on which he pays no tax. Then he ignores the FACT that no one with a $34 K income pays cash, they finance for 4 or 5 years, so only need about $3K per year. Then he ignores the FACT that the car buyer doesn't pay $10K at all because he has a trade-in. Then he ignores the FACT that the self-employed write off the car purchase as a business expense.

He ignores the "fact" that the purchase of a $10K car is completely optional. No one, no government, has forced him to buy a $10K car. It's his free choice.

And mostly he ignores the FACT that Joe car-buyer doesn't just go out and earn another $10K when he wants a car. He uses savings, trade-ins, and loans.

No wonder you can't get a decent job. You're just plain stuuuuuuppid.

Hey Duff this guy is reeeeeeaal stupid.By the way how does one increase their net worth by buying a freaking auto which depreciates in value once it's off the dealership lot ?? Who's the stupid one??

The United States had by far the highest number of millionaire households, with nearly 4.6 million, and the highest number of $100-million-plus households, with 2,300. The number of millionaire households increased by a steady 10%, while $100-million-plus households grew by 7%, joining the ranks of Microsoft (MSFT, news, msgs) Chairman Bill Gates and Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A, news, msgs) Chief Executive Warren Buffett.

this is from 2007

its easy to see DTBlackgumby is unable to process better than Jethro Bodene or he would have known his 388 K was way too low.

doggie has a comprehension problem when it comes to facts. What else would you expect from an Insurance salesman? I mean, if he could actually like, DO anything, a real job where he produced something...............but then he wouldn't be doggie, would he?

13M get unexpected tax bill from Obama tax credit
AP ^ | Dec 16, 2010 | STEPHEN OHLEMACHER

WASHINGTON ? About 13.4 million taxpayers may be getting unexpected tax bills because they were awarded too much money under President Barack Obama's Making Work Pay tax credit, a government audit said Thursday.

The tax credit, which expires Jan. 1, was designed to increase take-home pay by about $8 a week through new tax withholding tables. The credit was capped at $400 for individuals and $800 for married couples filing jointly.

However, the credit put millions of taxpayers at risk for not having enough taxes withheld from their paychecks, resulting in a tax bill when they file their returns, said the audit by J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration
