My wife and I will be moving to country life soon.

There is no cable offered in the area. Comcast is big in Georgia but not available.

I have been looking at Direct TV and they bundle with windstream for wireless phone and internet.
They also offer century and intuit or something .

they say its as good as DSL but I have read bad reviews on all saltelite stuff.

ATT Uverse ? anyone use this one ?

Dish TV with bundle packages ?

I know its not going to be the best but I would like to at least not be back to dial up crap

thanks

I have Windstream here and at work. It is DSL and they have different speed packages to choose from. I have it bundled with Dish Network. I have the top package and with Dish, basic phone (no voicemail, call waiting etc), and the internet's highest speed my bill is $145 a month. It's basically the only thing we are offered here. Sometimes during bad weather we have dropped service on the internet, etc. It takes forever to get someone in customer service but eventually your call gets answered and they are very helpful. I like Dish over Direct TV.

KOD-

You can't go wrong with directv. I'll put a plug but if you say I referred you (or a friend you have down there) we both get a 10$ credit for 10 months as well.

I've had windstream for dsl/phone for 4 years and just recently moved and now have uverse- Both have been just fine, no difference really.

You can bundle the uverse through directv and get 5$ off your directv bill for 12 mos for doing so. Pricing for phone/internet will be identical to what you'd get going to their website.

thanks Old Sch

you know I got the NFL package this year from Direct and I just did not enjoy it . Too many games to follow at once and I ended up just watching the main games I was playing on .

We have been looking for the right house now for 8 months and man it is frustrating. Real estate in Ga right now means few houses with acres available. And when they are ppl jump on them. We are under contract after getting in a bidding best and final offer shit. We lost several houses in this process.

Had the home inspection today and there are things that have to be done but it is really a nice property.
Horse farm in front of the house. Cows and farms rampant.

Hectic few months ahead getting moved.

Internet and good TV is important like to everyone.

just dont want to sign 2 yr

Old Sch

I know this has been talked about in other threads.

I am going to have to mow about 4 acres. The rest is pasture etc.

I talked to a neighbor today and she told me the only way to go is a kubota lawn 48"

I dont want to spend 5 hrs a week mowing

I was looking at Home Depot 19 hp John Deere ??

I wouldnt mind spending alot more if it will last me 20 yrs like this lady was telling me about Kubotas.

And this is going to happen fast so I am even thinking about just buying a 1000 dollar one and using it to keep the lawn under control as there are things in the house wife is changing. Painting , hardwood floors, etc.

another question

house has a well on it. Never lived in a house with a well.

Inspector said it was drilled and had a higher pressure than normal but the gauge might have been off.

The water comes out pure and tastes fine from the outside spigot.

We are going to have water tested.

Is it necessary to get the well inspected quickly ?

my head is starting to spin

House has a septic tank but the inspector was unable to find it.

He said some ppl put chemicals in it and get it pumped every 3 yrs or so.

Other ppl just leave it alone ?

You're gonna spend at least 5 hours a week mowing. Better get the Z series or a good 60" zero turn mower. Forget about a regular 48" tractor. JMO.

I'm sure OS will have better but similar advice.

WTF kind of inspector is that? You better spend another 100 bucks and get another inspector.

Yeah, for peace of mind get it checked about every 2 years, so I hear.

I left mine alone for 16 years and never had any problems at all. None.

Yes, get it inspected along with the other inspection so you have an OUT if there's a big problem. When the people bought my house there was a problem with the water and we had to have a purifier installed.

If it's on the roof it's harder for you to get to to clean snow and ice off of it because when there's snow on that bastid, you have no TV.

Right, if it's like here you're gonna have to mow every 4-5 days or it's a huge pain in the ass to mow when the grass is too high. S L O W.

My opinion is you will be very sorry if you don't get a 60" zero turn. She'll learn how to use it with no problem.

Hell, I only had an acre and I was sorry, I can't imagine not having one with 4 acres.

You will definitely remember me telling you so. DEFINITELY.
