am I wrong in thinking you're a dentist? I just vaguely recall you making mention of your practice, office

if you are and could shed light on my predicament, read on. if not, then please accept apologies for having bothered

I essentially, all of 20 minutes ago (great text service joker) chipped a rear tooth, while chewing gum, of all things. from looks of it, was one I had a filling in already. I actually was able to capture the fragments that separated --even though don't imagine will be of any good in moving forward (pics if think would help, of fragments).
there clearly are sharp edges to the newly exposed area of tooth -- though as of right now (not to jinx myself) doesn't hurt

im trying to prepare myself for what going into a dentist office will sound like, so can better understand options --or really what should have happen. granted there are plenty of other factors in play - but going off what i've described, is there an avenue you think I should prepare myself for whence get scheduled to go in to see dentist

it doesnt strike me as something emergency level, though that opinion could certainly change if I were experience pain, discomfort

more freaked than anything painful

I am don't always play dentist but when I do, I like to offer my advice on sports forums.

Prepare to have the remainder of your tooth removed by whatever force is needed.

That will be $50.00, and have a nice day

I was hoping to get a quick reply and simply have this fade off into nothingness... though apparently, unlike most of my other posts, has garnered a good amount of interest

I was wondering why soo many people would open a post that was titled, or directed at one particular person -- maybe wondering if they could wean some info from the circumstance i'm in, and how to handle if ever in same predicament

If you're lucky, the dentist might be able to grind off the sharp areas to smooth them over and send you on your way. Or, you might need a crown. My dentist probably wouldn't charge me to grind and smooth but a crown will run you anywhere from $700 to $1500 and that's if you don't need a root canal. A root canal will run you another $700 to $1000.
