You know what guys, OU could beat LSU & USC by double digits. :D
Oklahoma is the best right now but remember when they struggled at Alabama. I don't think they won that game by double digits and Alabama is below average this year. I dont think OU would like a trip to LSU or any of the other top SEC schools.

You aren't the only one who loved USC. Hell I bet them when the line first came out @ PK & felt they would win.

USC would not beat every SEC team by DD & that is fact.

The best recruiters in the nation? Are you kidding me?

Answer this: Why have teams like Florida St, Miami etc reloaded EVERY YEAR? Because they know how to recruit. USC has not recruited like that every year & you know that is the truth.

USC is overrated and not #2 in the nation. And yes, I will continue to fade them. USC did not get the best recruiting class in the nation.

1) Ohio St
2) Texas
3) Florida St
4) Miami
5) Michigan

USC not even Top 5. If Pete Carrol and his staff were so good...then why have they come to Toledo 3 times to get Fred Davis, when Davis Told them he is going to Ohio St????

Your a homer...enough with the dumb comments like beating SEC teams on the road by DD

One other thing:

The Pac 10 has only 2 teams in the top 25 like I mentioned before. USC lost to a team that isn't even in the top 25 & wasn't when they lost to them.

LSU atleast lost to a team that was ranked. If USC could go on the road & get beat by Cal, what would happen if they faced every SEC team on the road? They would be .500 at best. The SEC is top to the bottom the toughest conference in the country.

Hellah, go to link and you will see top 25 recruiting classes for "last year"

#1 Florida
#2 LSU
#3 USC

Many people said USC had the best class but since they did not take a QB, did not get #1. Well after signing day JOHN DAVID BOOTY, the QB from Louisiana, graduated early from high school and went to USC. Booty they say was the #1 high school QB in the nation last year, and he was only a junior. He suppose to be the best QB coming out of high school in LONG TIME. He out-performed CARR (texans) when he was a ball boy at the elite 11 camp. The kid is a stud and he has brains too! He easily put USC #1, but i do not want to take time to find the updated link or article saying USC #1.

Pete Carroll been at USC for only 3 years now. He is regarded across the country as one of the best recruiters in the nation. DOn't believe me? I can take the time to prove it to you if u want.

http://recruiting.theinsiders.com/3/team_rankings.html

As for Davis, USC is recruiting him, and he was at the game Saturday night. USC knows he is heavy lean to Ohio St., but the kid wanted to come and check it out. USC already has a silent verbal from WR Jarret in NJ, he is regarded as the #2 WR in the nation. Davis i think is #3 in nation. Last year Pete got the #1 and #4 WR's in the nation Whitney Lewis and Steve Smith. PRETTY SCARY!

Last week, Pete Just recieved a verbal from the #1 OL in the county, BYERS from CO. He is supposed to be the best Lineman to come out in the last 10-15 years. 30 pancakes in 1 game.

Pete also has silent verbals this year from #1 safety in nation (estes), #1 LB in nation RIVERS from FL, #1 DB in nation GINN has USC slightly favored he from OHIO (dad loves USC), and many more. I know USC pretty good and know inside stuff.

FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Davis is heavy OSU lean. YOUR RIGHT. I never said he is going to USC. He did visit USC and was at the game against WSU. Doesnt mean he is going to USC but he did visit. How good he is? I do not know much about the kid. But if you were him, why would you go to Ohio St.? I think he knows Ohio St. does not throw well and USC has one of the best offenses in the country and the QB is only a soph. and Booty is right behind him.

The recruiting classes you posted cannot be from last year. IMPOSSIBLE. But maybe they are this year, but that makes no sense because signing day is in FEB. There is LONG ways to go in recruiting.

a few things:

1) scott4usc....extreme hyperbole to say usc would win by DD vs anyone in the nation besides OU. thats ridiculous. you weaken your argument when you say something like that. theyre excellent, but thats nuts.

2).hellah....for as good a capper as you are, youre being AMAZINGLY stubborn to call usc overrated. im not saying theyre going to win the title, and maybe we can argue if they should be #2/#3/#5 or even #5. but to say theyre overrated- thats just being stubborn.

im starting to sound like i am a usc fan. obviously, being from the ohio area, i could give 2 sh1ts about southern cal. but for christsake, they have 8 wins this season and one loss. the 8 wins are by 23,17, 29,20,23, 31,20, and 27. thats disgusting.

3) as far as recruiting classes go, hellah is correct...ohio state and texas got the 2 top classes...thats a fact (per the blue chip ranking or whatever)....i cant attest the #3, 4 and 5 classes he listed but it looks right. 1/2 texas/ohio state is correct though

that being said, usc has ALWAYS gotten blue chip talent. theyve had some of the best talent in the nation the last decade and done NOTHING WITH IT until last year. last time they were every really good was the keyshawn era. the last 5 or 6 yrs, theyve wasted a ton of talent (until last yr). theyve got good coaches in there now

hellah:

can respect your opinion on whether or not theyre #2. with the trojans having one loss, it leaves that open for debate. nothing wrong with you thinking theyre not #2. just is ludicrous to use the adjective "overrated" imo, given their destruction of the teams theyve played. cal game sticks out like a sore thumb, just like wisky game does for osu, the florida gm does for lsu...etc etc etc.

NO WAY TEXAS or OHIO ST. had the top 2 classes in the nation lat year. NO WAY. Maybe so far this recruiting season, but that mean nothing because signing day is in FEB.

PLEASE link something to prove that. I am 100% sure they did not. USC had #1, Florida #2, LSU #3. I provided a link.

I am 100% your wrong on that.

Nice write-up gman2 and i enjoy reading your material and opinion. What i meant is that i think USC could beat any SEC team on the road by double digits. So say USC played LSU on the road, i think USC would win by 10pts or more. Just my opinion. I said USC would beat AU @ AU by double digits, and i was called homer for that and told that it weakens my argument. Well USC won 23-0.

Now if USC played all the SEC teams on the road, for 6 weeks straight, NO i do not think USC would win all 6 games by double digits. What i meant is i think USC could beat ANY SEC team on road by double digits. And i do not think think i am too far off by saying that.

FIGHT ON!

Please show me where TEXAS and OSU had higher classes than USC "last year." There is no possible way, i can argue USC, LSU, and FL ALL had better classes than both TEXAS and OSU. Where you getting this info? Ohio? Texas? lol. j/k

LOL....USC is just another school is the debate. If is funny that the only person or people that believe that USC is the leading number 2 are people from So Cal. Talk to someone in Columbus, and we will say...we are the defending champs so we deserve a shot. Ask anyone is Virginia and they will say that since they knocked off Miami it should be them. LSU can hold claim to be playing better than anyone right now....it will all be decided in a few weeks, I just hope that all these teams win out and the BCS will have a real issue

Go to these links. I knew I was right. I am also 100% USC will be a top 3 class again this year despite only having 15 rides.

http://interact.fansonly.com/recruiting/football.cfm

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/college/recruiting/news/2003/02/03/top25classes/

USC #1
LSU #2
FL #3
Texas #8
Ohio St. #15

JUST A REMINDER, these were rankings BEFORE JOHN DAVID BOOTY came to USC. Therefore, JDB put USC #1. Anyways, recruiting classes means squat. Its coaching that counts.

I think you guys were looking at the recruiting classes of 2 years ago.

FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!

scott:

i must concede that i think i might have been thinking of 2 yrs ago. (or at least the season BEFORE) the one you linked to.

for ohio state, im talking about the class for ohio state that had justin zwick at qb and hawk/d'andrea at linebacker. that class was #1 in the nation with texas #2 or vice versa.

theres A LOT of good arguments made all over this thread, from you to hellah, to mr hockey, to big tease and others.

to me, i know that usc, ohio state, and texas seem to always be getting blue chip talent and in the top 5 of recruiting classes damn near every year.

and mr.hockey is right when he says texas wins the annual recruiting war, but cant win jack on the field. its the same situation ohio state had with cooper in the 90's. his recruiting classes were unreal (think of the guys that have come through that program recently, from terry glenn, to eddie george, to springs, to katzenmoyer, to winfield, to david boston to clements... the list goes on). bottom line is texas and ohio state always have great recruiting classes and never win d1ck as a whole.

BCS rankings from New York Times computer poll........

NYT's 11/2 CFB Rankings:

1 Oklahoma
2 Southern Cal (they got that right)
3 Ohio State
4 Virginia Tech
5 Miami
6 Florida
7 Florida State (really helps USC)
8 Louisiana State (yep thats right)
9 Michigan
10 Tennessee

FIGHT ON!

FSU has not beaten a ranked opponent all year. They deserve #7.

I just bet $500 on Texas -3 +100 at Pinnacle. I really love this play and i see line moving and a great middle opportunity for my bet.

That computer poll should be thrown out. I am one of the biggest Florida fans on here but no way should they be #6. They have 3 losses. A lot of those computers have ****ed up rankings.
