Jack, are you eating 3 big meals a day? or are you having 5 or 6 small meals a day?

I took many nutrition classes in my day, just want to see if I can help at all..

When you only consume 1500 calories there's nothing big about anything.

This is a typical day

200 toast
100 salad
250 turkey sandwich
300 chicken breast
120 italian ice
250 pineapple
100 snack
100 yogurt
1420

I write them all down and keep track. It's easy to forget some things.

On the above example the toast I had was around 8am, the salad around 1130am the sandwich around 3pm, the chicken around 6pm, the pineapple and other shit around 8pm.

It's plenty to eat but I think my metabolism is all fucked up and my body decided not to lose anymore weight. Hell if I know

I lost 40 pounds in 2007 doing exactly the above for 3 months, no excercise. I guess I better get off my ass and excercise.

BUT, I'm taking a break for awhile :D

There is a enormous difference between consuming 500 calories three times a day and consuming 300 calories five times a day... as you probably know...

My weight will not come off like it used to. I am so disgusted I went to register fatjacksports.com this morning but it was already taken. I was going to do what that owner did and just redirect it to this domain.

Maybe I'll just throw in the towel and go with the fat look. :sadwave:

I'm always tired, weasie. I have never had trouble sleeping, going back to when I was born, so they say.

Imagine eating that little and gaining weight? Some strange shit has happened to me since I quit smoking.

I might ask the doc about that link you posted. I think I answered yes to 6 of the questions :scared

Couple of things that might help.
Smoking has nothing to do with metabolism as it is regulated more by your Parasympathetic nervous system, endocrine system and obviously your digestive system.
Smoking or nicotine does increase your heart rate as it is a stimulant. Since your heart is made up of irregular elastin tissue and controlled by the autorythmic nervous system, an increase in heart rate will cause an increased need of oxygen uptake but as your lungs are filled with carcinogens and carbon dioxide, bronchial tubes aerobic O2 production lacks causing anaerobic production of O2 and decreased ATP as it must give up a sodium ion for anaerobic O2 production and quickly synthesizes to ADP causing decreased muscle activity and inhibition of Graded Action Potential of the Central Nervous System. This slows the Action Potential by decreasing polarization of the Plasma membrane to as low as -85 mV. This increases the fissure of the synaptic clefts which also immediately reduce taste and inhibit hunger. Thus you gain weight when you stop as food tastes better and hunger pangs return.

Hope that helps,
FDC

Is weight gain inevitable after you quit smoking? What causes this?

Answer

from Edward C. Rosenow III, M.D.

It's fairly common to gain weight after quitting smoking, especially in the first few months ? but it isn't inevitable.
The nicotine in cigarettes acts as an appetite suppressant. The nicotine may slightly increase your metabolism as well. When you quit smoking, your appetite and metabolism return to normal ? which may lead you to eat more and burn fewer calories. Also, your ability to smell and taste food improves after you quit smoking. This can make food more appealing, which may lead you to eat more. And if you substitute snacking for smoking, the calories may quickly add up.
To avoid weight gain when you quit smoking, make diet and exercise part of your quit-smoking plan. It may help to:
  • Get moving. Include physical activity in your daily routine. Just 30 minutes of moderate exercise each day not only burns calories but helps relieve withdrawal symptoms and cravings.
  • Make wise food choices. Plan good-for-you meals and snacks, including plenty of fruits and vegetables. Eat smaller portions. Limit sweets and alcohol.
  • Keep your mouth busy. Chew on celery, carrot sticks, flavored toothpicks or sugarless gum.
  • Track your eating habits. Keep a food diary, including when, what and how much you eat every day.
Above all, remember that the health benefits of being smoke-free far exceed the problems associated with even moderate weight gain. Lung damage and heart disease are irreversible ? weight gain is not.

Anxiety? usually you smoke.., know your body need something to fill the emptyness from nicotine.., so you start eating...

But its always better to stop smoking,... i've seen people with long cancer.. and its awful man... great you quite.., be calm with food
