Starting Tue certain sites (facebook included) will not load on my laptop or wifes kindle. It has to be a router/modem/isp type deal as everything works on my phone until I connect to home wifi. Anyone ever had this issue? I have been researching for the last day and a half and trying everything I can find on the internet to resolve the issue and I am out of ideas.

We have TWC and every now & then we have to shut off the modem for about 30 sec. and let things reset....may want to try that to start with....:0008

Modem/router issues usually manifest as a binary issue. It either works or it doesn't. If you're unable to reach certain websites it's more likely that you've got a malware issue. Easy way to rule out an issue with the modem/router would be to take your laptop to Starbucks or somewhere with free wifi and see if you're having the same issues.

Anyway, it's something you can check while that selfish bastard Josh tends to his fresh offspring rather than helping an MJ brother in need. Good luck!

Considering the issue is only at home, the modem would be my first choice instead of "reboot everything"......but hey what does a Mainer know....:0008

Would the computer malware issue not be ruled out by my phone loading all these pages with 4g and not loading them when I connect to home wifi?

I unplugged everything overnight and still no fix today. Like I said I think Ive tried every "basic" fix.

Try this on your laptop

Right click your wifi connection and click
Open Network and sharing center
Click Change Adapter settings
Right click your wifi connection and click properties
Click Internet Protocol Version 4 - Then click properties
At the bottom in the DNS section (let me know what your setting is)
Try changing to - Use the following DNS server addy
and use google's dns 8.8.8.8 alternate 8.8.4.4

You said some sites don't work - how many do?

google - make sure links don't redirect - malware

then try
go to start type internet options
Go to advanced
Click Reset, Click Reset

Yep. It sounds like you've got a virus/malware issue. If your antivirus program can't handle it you'd better either wait for Josh or take it to a pro.

I've learned a lot about computers the hard way. Had to take down a nasty virus on my wife's laptop an hour ago. Pros around here cost too much so I'm try to handle it myself when I can..

Same sites do not load on my wifes kindle and will not load on my phone either when on wifi. If it was a virus on my laptop how would that have any impact at all on the other devices????
