I guess they don't do anything more than a topical anesthetic on the cystoscope because that's usually done in the doctor's office, and they don't want the liability of giving you heavy drugs. With the big drugs to sedate you or even "consciously" sedate you, there are rules and procedures set about in case you crash after having them administered. I guess it could be done at the hospital in an outpatient setting where you could be monitored if you demanded it.

I had it in the doctors office so I am sure your right.

Hopefully I never have to have a stent again , but if I do , I will demand they do it as outpatient in the fawking hospital.

I will have to ask if sex helps.. I don't think people really are worried about sex when going through these symtoms.

Just a guess.. I would not think that it would help it pass... Jizz comes from a different spot than piss.

Thats why I wondered. It obviously comes from a different spot, but it also goes through the same hole so I didn't know if the stone blocking and jizz coming out would make a big problem.

I've had sex twice since, and I feel alot better since. It could be the pain killers, it could be just time passing by, idk??? I can still feel like a bruising pain in my side though.

Just recieved the worst news ever. Hospital called back, and I have to go see a UROLOGIST ASAP. The Kidney Stone is worse off then origionally thought and it's in a spot that it could burst and kill me.

Wow. Hope everything goes well. Never heard of a kidney stone being able to burst and kill a person. I have heard of people dying because they lef it untreated and acquired a "super infection."

Will say a prayer for you tomorrow but I'm sure everything is going to be alright. This is exactly how all 3 of my stones were; all lodged in the kidney because of size. although it is serious and it is it seems like you are on the right path to get it solved.

I'm betting your urologist will set you up for the liptotripsy procedure as quickly as it becomes available.

Do not fret. I know that is hard to say but everything will be ok. And I can say this because my experience was exactly the same.

Give us an update when you have anything.

the lithotripsy machin clicks really loud and it hurts everytime it clicks. It is like a laser beam that breaks up the stone. They dont tell you how long that will take though. I think it was about a hour.
I still remember that.... Click ....owwww Click owww Cliick owwwww.....

Trying to hold still during that is hard as hell. I hate when a nurse tells you cant move around at all. I am not good at that at all. If they tellme not to move, I am moving something if its just my fawking toe. :scared

OK then give me more drugs not to move.

oh man i know what you are going through, well 80% of what you are going through. When I had my appendix surgery, surgeon told me worst 3 pains are in order

#3 appendix
#2 kidney stone
#1 child birth

Hang in there man, swallow those pain killers, helped me a lot!

Can't imagine anything worse than appendicitis. Just about the 1 year to the day that mine ruptured, and wow did that suck. The first day or so, I though it was stones as well.

Terrible part of the body to have pain.

The nurse who admitted me before seeing the doctor today told me that they say passing the stone for a male is the closest pain comparission to a female giving child birth :shrug:

Anyways, the doc told me that the stone is logged in the tube leading to my bladder and it's 2x bigger than the tube itself. They gave me Flomax I think it's called, but whatever it is, it's supposed to make me urinate more. Then he gave me another script for Vicodin haha, and said I got a 50% chance of passing it because they want it to go through on its own. If not, I got an appointment for opperation setup for the 28th

I woke up today with the same pain I had when I went to the ER. So much pain today, and the medicine doesn't seem to be working 100%.

I got some serious pills saved up if I have another one. I will be popping them in the ambulance and laughing at them medics.

Seems like all the vicodin does is make me sleepy.
