BUTT UGLY PICK :Yep:

You all know that BUTT UGLY + POINTS = $$$

:00hour

Take NORTHERN ILLINOIS AT TENNESSEE Oct. 4

Sept. 20 Tennessee vs. FLORIDA
Sept. 27 Tennessee AT AUBURN
Oct. 4 Tennessee vs. n. ill. ***
Oct. 11 Tennessee AT GEORGIA

:SIB

***Answer me this. Which team has this game
circled. The one with 10 offensive starters and
11 defensive starters back (Jerry Kill steps into a
tremendous situation. NI was -17 in TO's, had 3
net close losses, had poor offensive and defensive
ypp's last year and were one of the top teams in
the NCAA in starts lost. They also go from an
inexperienced team with just 3 senior starters to
a team with 21 starters returning with 20 seniors
having starting experience. NI makes my most
improved list which means I think they can get
from 2-10 record to bowl eligibility. (Phil Steele)

OR

the team that just played Florida, Auburn, and has
Georgia on deck. :scared

Remember gents, points will be a plenty :Yep:

This post to be continued

Great info Kramer. Can not wait!

Dawgs can have all the talent in the world but there hasnt been a season yet wehere Mark Richt didnt manage to F@@@ it up and no reason to think this year will be any different

I am pretty level headed when it comes to my dawgs, but your going to have to explain this one:shrug:

RICHT IN THE "70 IN 7" CLUB

Richt is one of only 9 head coaches in NCAA Division IA history to record 70 or more wins in his first seven seasons. Coach (1st 7 seasons) School, 7-year mark

George Woodruff Pennsylvania, 94-6
Walter Camp Yale and Stanford, 81-5-3
Bob Stoops Oklahoma, 75-16
Amos Alonzo Stagg Springfield, Chicago, 74-32-7
Pete Carroll USC, 74-14
Barry Switzer Oklahoma, 73-7-2
Mark Richt Georgia, 72-19
Henry Williams Army, Minnesota (70-5-6)
Urban Meyer Bowling Green, Utah, Florida (70-16)

25-4 in opponents stadiums (9-2 versus Ranked Opp.)

Only Coaches To Win Two SEC Titles In First Five Years

Frank Thomas, Alabama (1933, '34)
Bernie Moore, LSU (1935, '36)
Vince Dooley, Georgia (1966, '68)
Steve Spurrier, Florida (1991, '93)
Nick Saban, LSU (2001, '03)
Mark Richt, Georgia (2002, '05)

Only SEC Coaches To Record Four Straight 10-Win Seasons

Paul "Bear" Bryant, Alabama (1971-74, 1977-80)
Vince Dooley, Georgia (1980-83)
Phillip Fulmer, Tennessee (1995-98)

Steve Spurrier, Florida (1993-98)

You will excuse me if I do not understand what your getting at:shrug:

Sun is just a complete contrarian.......and I dont know if there is a coach out there that he likes at all......I admit to being that way at times when I watch these games as well.

I guess this means we are one step closer to the start of the season with Sun taking a shot at a coach that has us shaking our head looking for a further explanation.

Love It!!!! Keep it coming too as it just breeds more football talk, in my opinion.

That means the first Bubba Gump reference is right around the corner! :mj07:

Cna quote numbers like that and make Mack Brown look like Bear Bryant too. The goal is to win championships which was the point of discussion. If you are a fan of a bigtime program, which Georgia certainly is, you shouldnt be getting all excited about 10 win seasons that dont produce national titles or often SEC titles, when your archrival Florida is routinely kicking your ass or when you lose games you have no business losing.

Bottom line he has had the talent to play for the big enchilada and always loses to somebody he has no business losing to, and often at home.

Last year a dreadful home loss to South Carolina in which as I recall Richt the offensive genius couldnt even get a touchdown on the board. The blowout loss in Knoxville was pretty awful at the time as well.

2006 - a home loss to Vandy? Giving up 50 plus to Tennessee at home in losing by 3 TDs when you had the lead starting the fourth quarter?

2005 - a complete gag job in losing at home to Auburn by 1 on the last play Fg after giving up a bomb in the last 30 seconds of the game, in part caused by not going for 2 after a fourth quarter touchdown and instead kicking to get a 6 point lead.

2002-2004 the losses were respectable but when they had to get a big game against an equal or arguably better opponent they lost.

The guy is Mack Brown except for the 2005 win over USC - win 10 games, beat almost everybody you should except once a year or so have an unexplainable dud, struggle against your big name border opponent you play at a neutral site, etc. So yes an ecellent coach, but not a championship coach.

As for Gump, ironically he still wouldnt have one if the voters hadnt completely shafted Georgia and been one of the most screwed up seasons ever. He has the hardware but does anyone truly believe that "proved" he was a great coach?

Okay I will bite, what coaches do you believe are top notch (championship Coaches) Just remember the criteria you set above and give me some of your top notch ones. And if your premise is that GA has better athletes than Fla,LSU,USC,Tenn, or Aub each year then your just stupid so please save your breath. GL

My first pick of the season comes on Nov. 1st.
Take Mississippi State vs. Kentucky.

Oct. 4 Kentucky AT Alabama
Oct. 11 Kentucky vs. South Carolina
Oct. 18 Kentucky vs. Arkansas (HC)
Oct. 25 Kentucky AT FLORIDA *
Nov. 1 Kentucky AT MISSISSIPPI STATE ***
Nov. 8 Kentucky vs. GEORGIA *

Real good stuff Kramer...always enjoy reading your posts. But I'm not so sure any SEC opponent would be a trap game for Ky...as they (like Vandy & a couple of others) have to scrap for any SEC win they can get!...They may lose but I don't think it will be cause their looking ahead to Georgia. Last year they were physically & emotionial drained when State came to Lexington after playing LSU and Florida back to back...and a lot of you guys were all over it...Tao & Cie to name a couple.

Keep doing your thing Kramer...:00x1

Thanks guys :toast:

My next pick is another Mississippi State home
game in a favorable spot. I know several of you
have stated that sandwich games don't mean
squat to Kentucky or Vandy, but you've got to
look at the total picture on both sides of the
schedule.

Oct. 4 Vandy vs. Auburn *
Oct. 11 Vandy AT Miss. State ***
Oct. 18 Vandy AT Georgia *

*Commodores have lost 13 in a row to Auburn
(last win was Gator Bowl in '55). VU had been
outscored by an avg of 37-7 in the last 3 meetings
with Auburn.
***Vandy trails the series 7-10-2 but won the last
meeting 31-13 in 2004. The Commodores have
dropped 5 straight in Starkville by an avg of 27 ppg
*LY UGA hit a 37 yd FG with no time left for a
20-17 come-from-behind win. The last time in
Athens, VU won 24-22 for their 1st road win over
a ranked opponet ever.

Vandy Coach: Bobby Johnson
LY Record: (5-7)
Returning Starters:
Offense: 3
Defense: 6

This looks like a rebuilding year, and I will call for an
0-8 SEC record, the first since Johnson's first year.
They have just 9 seniors but 32 juniors so '09 will
be their next shot at a winning season. (Phil
Steele).

Oct. 4 OPEN *
Oct. 11 Miss. State*** vs. Vandy
Oct. 18 Miss. State AT Tennessee*

*:00hour
***The Bulldogs have won 10 of the L/13
including 4 of 5 & 5 straight at home. Vandy won
the last meeting, 31-13 in Nashville in 2004.
*The Bulldogs have lost 5 in a row & 8 of the last
9. MSU Asst HC & QB Coach McCorvey was the RB
coach at UT for 5 years before joining Croom's staff

Miss. State Coach: Sylvester Croom
LY Record: 8-5
Returning Starters:
Offense: 6
Defense: 8

With 14 starters back, this year's team is more
talented than 2007's and have a great shot at
getting to a bowl. (Phil Steele)

Talk about a tough schedule {yes there are a couple of patsies} but look at that road schedule:

Clemson opener in Atlanta
at Arkansas
at Georgia
at Tennessee
at LSU
and Auburn who we cant beat anymore:shrug:

Going to be a tough year for Nick and his number 1 recruiting class!

ROLL TIDE

clock :00x29

Yes they do have a tough schedule but it is spread
out nicely.

Aug. 30 vs. Clemson in Atlanta
Sept. 6 vs. Tulane
Sept. 13 vs. Western Kentucky
Sept. 20 AT Arkansas
Sept. 27 AT GEORGIA
Oct. 4 vs. Kentucky
Oct. 11 OPEN
Oct. 18 vs. Mississippi
Oct. 25 AT TENNESSEE
Nov. 1 vs. Arkansas STATE
Nov. 8 AT LSU
Nov. 15 vs. Mississippi State
Nov. 22 OPEN
Nov. 29 vs. AUBURN

Anyone in the SEC has a tough schedule, but this
one has nice soft gapes spaced between critical
opponents.

GL this year clock :toast:

Rick, no I live in Simi Valley CA, I just give B2DB
chit every chance I get and you live in the same
area. I had a keg route with Golden Eagle from
'82 to '84, then a package route the next two
years. If you were in Stillwater from '82 to '86 and
drank Anheuser-Busch products, I was your driver.
(Gray Fox). I sold over 250 kegs off my truck
the weekend of the OU-OSU football home game.
Was best friends with the Coors driver. (Eskimo
Joes). Those were the good ole days :00hour

UGA at KY is a good one.

Brutal schedule for the Dawgs late in the year. All these SEC teams butt heads in the 2nd half of the year, often knocking each other out.

I could see South Carolina starting 6-1, only to finish 7-5, sort of like last year.
