Where it is real F ing COLD
You can drink but you still can't go over the 1500 calories a day. 9 Bud Lights and a Ham sub at Subway with no mayo.

Can hardly catch a buzz! If you want to get a jag on, mix vodka in unsweetened tea! My buddy substituted that for beer and has lost a lot of weight. Seriously I would exercise and exercise some more.

Yup, that's what you're supposed to do. He's 30 something and that's what he should do. I ate whatever I wanted and drank whatever I wanted until I hit 50. I just can't do that anymore. If he wants a quick fix he can dump 40 pounds easily in 5-6 months by limiting his calorie intake to 1500 calories a day. And that is plenty of food. Start the workouts come spring :0074
HH, you can have 1 cheat day a week too, if you want.

A pint of vodka is about 1000 calories too.

10 beers and a pint are about the same buzz, right?

If you are limited to 1500 calories, you don't have a lot of choices.

Not really, I hate to say it but if I'm going to have 9 beers then I am going to have 12 at least cause I'm out to party! I can drink 9 vodka drinks much quicker than 9 beers and I will get a much better buzz! Again, I don't think I stop at 9. Once I get over 6 then I'm in for long haul! Stopped at 6 beers Monday

Hedge,

get my email from Jack...

I have a suggestion, you would need to workout 30/min a day along with the diet plan....

You guys that make fun of how I eat end up on a diet every other month.

Just sayin...

You wouldn't gain any weight if all you ate were pizza, whoppers, donuts, and only drank milkshakes.

You won't gain when you hit the 50's either.

Hedge, if you're really serious about it then just do the P90X program. For someone trying to get into shape there really is nothing better. I think it's great because it tells you exactly what to eat and then you have the videos for working out. If you don't like the diet part of it then just find out what your calorie intake is to maintain the weight that are you now is and lower it by 500 per day. I agree with using fitday.com, it's a good site and very helpful. If you have a droid phone(i'm sure iphone has them as well) you can get apps that help you track food just like fitday. Don't forget to adjust your calories based on your weight loss though.

The other thing you may want to do if you have a phone that can is download the p90x videos on your phone so you can workout with it at the gym instead of at home. I couldn't do it at home because I needed heavier weights and I like doing pull ups on the gyms pull up bar instead of over my doors.(wife said I was tearing them up)

I love working out and have done it for a long time. I've bulked up, cut up and everything in between but I'll promise you if you do p90x for the 90 days you will look and feel totally different. Try if for 30 days and I'm willing to bet you see a big difference.

No matter what you do, work out with some weights to gain some muscle. A lot of people will say just eat less and run but if you add muscle then you will be burning more calories and unless you eat too much your body will have no choice but to burn calories. If you have a problem eating too much then get a thermogenic for fat loss that also has an appetite suppressant in it. Just make sure you eat a healthy snack every few hours even if you're not hungry.

Here is a video that motivated me to buy a bike last week. I just did a mini-detox and that worked wonders. It was the whole fruits/veg/water for 11 days and then add meat. I did it for 2 weeks and had lost 12-15 pounds and didn't need to lose anymore.

But like sixfive posted.....a bike may be the way to go, exercise bike or real bike.

I wonder if this guy is exaggerating....plus he's about 10 years younger than us so he's got better metabolism/testosterone more than likely. I've been lifting so just added biking and might try to run 3x per week. Trying to look better, feel better, and play some flag football in the spring.

The soda and alcohol is what gets me the most, rest of my diet is really good...

To sustain that weight, u need about 2700 calories a day. If u take in 500 less calories than that a day, u lose 1 pound a week. You'll lose more if u exercise as u can subtract those calories from what u eat. Figuring in the exercise, if u go at it hard, u can be 1000-1500 net calories a day easily and lose healthily and fast. Count calories and eat less than ur body requires and exercise. Any other diet plan is bad. GL!

Ps. Don't start out with insanity or p90x bc they r too hard and u won't stick with it.

bingo...

lost 35 lbs before my wedding in little less then 3 months....never felt tired/unhealthy...

ate between 1000-1500 calories a day...

excersized an hour and half a day after work....

go at it hard...i know it sucks for an hour and a half, but you will feel amazing afterwards....excersize literaly gave me a confidence and happiness like no other drug....

another key part, dont eat all your calories in 1-2 big meals a day...break it up...

small breakfast, small snack before lunch, healthy lunch, healthy dinner.....keep your metabolism going....you literally can condition yourself to know the calorie intake of any food your going to eat....

something i did to get more food....dont waste your calorie intake on drinks like gatorade/powerade and stuff like that....adds about 90 calories when water does the same trick......save 90 calories by not drinking that stuff, and you can add an apple/pack of crackers/granola bar, somethine like that to your daily diet.....i know it sounds small, but when your eating less, a granola bar can go a long ways....

hardest part for me was the first 1-2 weeks....once my body got used to the new diet, i literally was never hungry.....allow your body to adjust, and you will be fine...

GL hedgie, glad to see you taking initiative....may follow your lead....

back up to 195:facepalm:

was all the way down to my college weight of 180, and allowed myself to put half of what i lost back on...

GL again man go get it
