Well, I have to tell you.....I always hear about people saying the get sick in Las Vegas, and I believe a lot of them get sick on the plane!

Everytime that I fly in the Winter months, there are at last a dozen people hacking and sneezing and sniffling. All that shit is floating around in that tube we all are sitting in. Like clockwork, you find yourself feeling shitty in a few days.

Last time I flew to Vegas, I wore a mask. I felt stupid with it on, but I never got sick on my trip!

Oh, and that guy across the aisle? He wants to power scrub his face with those germs! Keep that thing off!

That use to be the only time I got sick. It was usually one of those head colds that hang on for a week or two but the last 5+ times I didn't get sick at all. There are a lot of germs floating all around in Vegas especially on chips. The poker table is disgusting and how people can sit at a poker table and eat I'll never know. Germs spread from your hands to your eyes too, make a special effort to keeps your hands and fingers away from your eyes. Anyway, I hate everything there is about flying and thinking about the flight home is almost reason enough to not go at all. :142smilie

Last year I borrowed a 10 power Jewelers Magnifying Glass from a neighbor, and studied a few poker chips at the Orleans poker table.
I could have swore I saw what looked like caked on human feces in the recesses of some of the chips....got some interesting looks from players at the table as I was shaking my head in disgust. :cc

If I get my way, there will be a living in Saudi Arabia blog in the near future.

I really want to do that; the pay is life changing especially with both of us doing it. Holy crap!!

Not much to write about since I have been back. No gambling yet, just working, and nothing really interesting yet. Jack gets here next Wednesday, so I'm trying to save up for that epicness. I personally think I contacted some sort of bug in Haiti, possibly Chikungunya, so I have been feeling like crap with severe chest pains included. I was worked up cardiac wise 3 years ago and cleared, so I don't think and I hope it's not my heart, but the saying is nurses make the worst patients, so who knows.

Anyway, I'll try to get some interesting stuff up here soon. Thanks for All the responses and compliments. I'm really glad I started this thread, and the writing is good for me.

Horrible oppressive country, if you are a male and are making massive amounts of money then maybe you'll handle it. If you are a women stay the fuck away that's all I can say. I have been there, trust me when I tell you if you have any values whatsoever you'll feel disgusted in yourself just walking the streets. How they treat women is beyond disgusting.

Never ever ever ever ever let your wife go there, just my 2 cents.

And yes even the hotels have rules where women aren't allowed to be at the pool when men are there and they have to stay covered up. Yes at a fucking hotel that is filled with tourists.

I could never spend more then 2 weeks there, after 1 week you feel like a terrible person for just being there. It just feels wrong.

Then again if I was making huge money I could look past it I guess, money makes you re-evaluate things. Just an awful awful awful country, one of the worst on earth.

Now if I was a women I'd never ever ever ever ever set foot in that country, ever.

I wouldn't go without my wife. She'll be ok; I have heard the restrictions especially for white women have slacked a lot. I read earlier that women are fine now going out in public not wearing the burka or whatever it's called. We would be living in a hospital compound or maybe a military base, so I'm not worried about safety at all. We shall see what develops.

Depends on what u like to do? Should be a great time to watch college hoops. I recommend the newly renovated Westgate (old Hilton) as a great place to watch the games. Maybe I'll see u while you're out?

My buddy loves and swears by Westgate so that'll likely be where we are at. I just know it's pretty crazy around those times so I didn't know if you had any advice.

We definitely should maybe link up!

The Westgate is only a mile from where I live, and I like it a lot there. I would go more, but I can't get enough in comps to suit me. Even in busy times, there is room there to be comfortable, and it will beat being on the Strip. You can get my email if you want for more specifics.

Awesome. I thought it sucked you had to spend $50 to get a drink coupon, but I also didn't mind spending $50 on a bet.

Sure man, are we allowed to exchange on here?

me.

My brother currently works in Abu Dhabi. The kingdom is going to put four nuclear power plants on line in the next decade and he is training operators.
His wife stayed in the states as their two kids are college students.
She had a horrible experience on her visit there and won't be going back.
The pay is ridiculous and the first 100k you make while working overseas is tax free.
He pays no rent and most meals are served in a cafeteria that doesn't charge employees.
He bought a car from a coworker to get around, but he is driven to and from the plant so he doesn't use it much.
When they get more than 3 days in a row off--which is at least one a month, they fly to Serbia or Italy to eat well and play golf.
Quite the life he's living these days...[emoji106]

United Arab Emirates is quite a bit different from Saudi Arabia, just sayin' Although I will say Saudi Arabia is much worse if you are a women or gay. Of course if you are a women or gay you don't want to be in either of those countries.

United Arab Emirates also has way more Americans and Canadians then Saudi Arabia does, so that's a plus. For me personally I'd be ok staying in United Arab Emirates for a long period of time. Saudi Arabia on the other hand, no fucking way, that country is awful, just awful.

A snapshot of the same days of the prior picture. I check this all the time. It's intriguing to me how he prices fluctuate. I'm sure it's purely supply and demand, but how can it move so much? More coming.

Living in Las Vegas

I worked Tuesday night, so I slept until 2 then walked to the Westgate to meet Jack and Terry Ray. Jack updated his exploits in the vegas thread, and he's started on quite a heater.

We both had promo chips at the Westgate (me $50, jack $300). We also bought in, and I dropped my $300, and jack broke perfectly even, so I'm starting in a hole fast.

Dr. Feelgood picked us up, and drove the four of us to the Ceasar's Palace Diamond Lounge. Free food, free beverages, and good times.

We went to Planet Hollywood afterwards, and I got my money back with UTH and BJ and was up $100 for the day.

We ran into the Trooper, and as always he is very interesting and engaging to his fans. His Vlog today might include some familiar names  I have to start shaping up after seeing these pics. Man what a fatass

I played some poker after everybody else left, and I dropped $200. Back to BJ where I was in deep and down to my last green chip when my double down bet held, and I recovered for a $30 winner on the session. I walked around a bit and sat down again for a quick win of $280 which left me up $200 on the night. I arrived home at 4:30 and hung out with the wifey and watched Drive Along 2 on the Kodi enabled Firestick TV.

I only slept 2 hours, and I'm wide awake now. The plan is for B and me to hit the Strip this evening for DL and comped comedy club, then I'll meet the guys afterwards. Betone arrives at 2100 local time, and I'm looking forward to seeing him again. I think Noodle gets here today too, and I'm not sure about YYZ. I haven't met Noodle, but looking forward to it, and I always enjoy the witty YYZ as well.

We have been working overtime, and we are trying to get another contract lined out. The hospital still needs massive amounts of help, so I hope it's not a problem, but it never is a given.

Tuesday at work, I had two admissions. The first was an 83 year old man with a fractured femur. He slipped and fell on the ice here in Las Vegas. That's not a typo, and I would think slip and falls on ice are fairly rare here. I took a picture of a puddle that shows some freezing earlier that same day.

04537902078d1e2d8219739a2d5cb50c.jpg

My next admission was a 90 year old widow. She lives alone in Las Vegas, but her brother had recently moved in with her. She had fallen and fractured her femur too when she was in the process of taking the garbage to the curb  She has absolutely no medical history, she had never been hospitalized, and she takes no medication at home. She came up from the ER in her pajamas and bed jacket, and she was not thrilled when I told her all that had to come off so she could be assessed and care provided. She was a major drama queen but feisty in a hilarious way. "Just kill me now". I hit her with some Morphine before we started moving her, and the response was so funny. She said, "why are you doping me up", then "wheeee!"

Both of these patients will have surgery, and hopefully they both recover successfully.
