Loophole:
Get ready for long diatribe. I have appreciated your relatively few, but insightful posts in the past. I would like to respond to your comment against me in the "He should apologize" thread since apparently you have taken it upon yourself to speak for the forum and demand an apology for name calling against your friend Wayne.
By way of history, I will not detail the differences that Wayne and I have politically, socially and for that matter, in all ways I can imagine. For the sake of brevity, I think it would be easier to identify our common ground. After giving this a lot of thought, I believe Wayne and I can safely say that both of our feet our on the same planet. Other than that, I think thats about it.
Several months, maybe more, I mentioned in a thread that I had a gambling problem and that I no longer gamble. Initially your friend indicated he thought my admission was admirable but then some time later used that admission against me in a post. I do not know the exact location of that post nor the context other than he intended it to be an attack and to demean.
I am not thin skinned and generally will laugh at the comments directed toward me. I will assume you did not see that post and therefore did not come to my aid as you have come to Waynes aid. Either that or you did see that post and for whatever reason chose not to comment.
In closing the book on Wayne, I stand by each name I called him and each comment I made. I believe him to be insincere, manipulative, narrowminded and a fraud. His comments about my gambling were as below the belt as any I've read at this forum. I did not come on this forum attacking insurance agents.
A review of your friends posts will indicate his agenda as to attack lawyers, liberals, and basically anyone who does not believe in my namesakes America. He has and continues to post jaded, false internet links to propel his agenda. I'm merely calling a spade a spade.
As you are aware, I have been called everyname in the book. I probably have called most here a name or two and do not apologize for doing so. This is an internet chat room. My behavior in a courtroom is, shall we say somewhat more reserved. Based on that notion, that is the reason I do not post my real name here.
Vitriolic (word of this administration I prefer the word of the last administration "salacious"). Although I've never met your friend, I can safely say I do not like what he stands for. The fact that he plays the "military record card" is an example of lowlife tactics that as an attorney, you may appreciate.
No one was talking about your buddy's military record. I believe we were talking about Kerry's. Yet your friend decides to interject a sympathy play to the readers of this thread by letting everyone know he is a military man. Like that should automatically give him some credibility. You did the same thing with your military family history. Transparent cheap shot and highly objectionable in a court of law as completely irrelevant. Shame on you. If I played your game, you owe the forum an apology.
But I will not do that. You see, loophole, this is an internet chat room where people with the benefit of anonymity can say whats really on there mind and say it in a way that may add emotion and emphasis. I don't apologize for that either. Again, I find it interesting that you defend your friend after I called him names yet did not do the same for me.
To the point of the thread, Kerrys ACTUAL service mates pointed to his bravery. Some say reckless although we know such behavior can be spun either way (if it was Bush he would have been likened to John Wayne). Your friend pointed to those who kinda knew Kerry or served with him at some other time to attack his bravery. Yet for the billionth time, Wayne spun that his way. As stated he is a fraud.
By analogy, you and I as lawyers may have some insight into the OJ Simpson trial by virtue of the fact that we are lawyers. However, we do not know what went on in chambers and otherwise in the courtroom. Without such knowledge, do we know the whole story on Ito, Cochran, Clark, et al. Of course not, neither does Waynes servicemen who kinda knew Kerry.
Well, this is quite a long diatribe. I first came on this forum to get some insight into my pathetic bets. Some of these guys really knew what they were doing but, I still lost. Gave up gambling but continued to watch some very entertaining folks in this forum. Decided to post when a bunch of you all wanted to fry Andrea Yates. Since then its been all down hill.
I found posting and reading the posts here entertaining, educational, and by far, a relief from the pressures of my practice. For that I thank you all. In addition, it gave me an outlet to practice what I really like to do and that is to write. (Frustrated writer).
I've posted at this forum because I like to get a rise out of people. One of the funniest things I ever read was when I made some idiotic statement and Blitz wrote back "Eddie, I just want to punch you." That was great. Although I believe in what I write, I do it with emotion to try to cause a reaction in the reader.
Do I want to be read? Do I seek attention here? You better believe it. I think that any one who posts here wants others to read there posts. Agree or disagree, they still want to have people acknowledge what they have written. Will I die if no one reads them, no. Shit, Scotts not dead.
When I came here we had guys like Felonious Monk, Bluemound Freak, Private Petey and others who would consistently put forth their nonsense to the amusement of all. They have gone or very infrequently post anymore. Time for me to do the same.
I need to get some work done. I'm not leaving because of the issue prompting this thread although it may have hastened my exit but, rather cause of other outside pressing matters. I will probably still lurk but will no longer post.
This is not meant to illicit comments like "Oh please Eddie come back" or to make anyone feel (Wayne) that they have driven me away, because you haven't. It's just time to move on. I know there may be some good riddance but thats okay too.
Now I'm not much of an internet thank you guy but here goes:
Jack: I hope your father is okay. Keep the $100 for the party or better yet, give my spot to one of the other MJ'rs here who can't afford to go, or put it on the Bengals to win the super bowl. Thanks for everything and allowing this mouthpiece a venue to vent his frustrations.
Kosar, YYZ, Penguinfan, BeantownJim: You guys are the funniest people I've never met. Everyone of your posts makes me laugh. I really don't think Jim is a racist as I believe he is trying to be funny anyway, I hope he isn't.
DJV, Stevie, Bj, Auspice, ocelot, Shamrock, Bobby Blue Chip: keep up the good fight. We need more human beings like you guys.
65, Dr. Strangelove, Taoist, Chanman, Dawgball: I think you are probably one hell of a nice group of guys and would have like to have met you one day. I know politically and religiously some of us may differ but I think, based upon your posts, you all are true gentle men.
AR: You had the funniest line at this forum when you said "I'm a moderate." Since then you have been spinning that you are a centrist. Actually, I stole my centrist/moderate shtick from you. Very, very funny.
Ctown, Freeze, Blitz, Nosigar, Saint, Wilson, its been real. I hope you have had as much fun knocking me as I have knocking you. Remember, they are just words on a computer screen. Good luck guys.
Scott:
Tara, Missy, Helen: You gals are never gonna know what you missed. Ha Ha. Good luck to you all in marriage, softball, and life. Tara sorry about bailing on AC.
Raymond, Fletcher: It was you two monkeys that caused me to miss my mortgage payment and quit gambling. JK. Good luck to you guys.
I know I'm missing a bunch and after I hit the submit button, I'll remember.
I appreciate your defense of your friend Wayne. However, I decline your request for an apology to him as I decline to apologize to this forum for any comments and name calling I have used herein.
With that I want you all to imagine Eddie getting ready to board a 727 to California and giving a Nixonian wave to the crowd as he flys off into the land of the lurkers.
Don't take odds on when I will post again no matter what the bait.
Good bye
E. Haskell
