Auburn is very talented but has some key defensive injuries. Defense wins championships but is less flashy. The public will pound because of the gaudy offensive numbers, Remember last year LSU crushed Auburn, is Auburn that much beter? Who have they beat? The only legit D they played (Miss State) held them in check. I don't believe 1 player can beat a team of athletes. I will wait till the line goes to 7 and pound it. I see LSU winning and will play the money line also. Yes LSU has won ugly but so did bama last year they needed 2 blocked FG's to get past Tenn. Remember defense wins championships!

Yes they are that much better, and who has LSU beat? Florida? WOW!

Your defense has not played against an offense they will see this weekend. Only powder puff offenses, so do not look through purple and gold glasses. If you think your going into Jordan Hare and leaving off where you did last year then you are mistaken. Your coach is a retard, your offense is sloppy and you have defended against no one of substance. Will probably be a close game til the fourth quarter when your "defense" is worn down and will collapse to the best team in the SEC.
War Damn Eagle. I hate my ex wife and her LSU tigers..............lol

Yes, Auburn is that much better than last year. You have to understand the energy that Cam brings to his players. Look at the second half and the adversity Auburn has overcome in impressive fashion in four of their games.

I can tell you one thing, it will be electric on Saturday and if Auburn is down, they will not be out. This team knows how to survive in a game and get the chances to win.

I'm hoping Les Miles has to coach in the final minutes of the game. Advantage: Auburn.

Will be a great one.

Stats and Facts.. ...per Ben Lerner

QB Cam Newton neutralizes the blitz

A defense facing Cam Newton has to know that it is almost a given that the Auburn Tigers quarterback will gain yards on the ground. He is just too big and too strong for a defense to completely shut his ground attack down.

But when Newton drops back to pass, defensive coordinators have to be smart if their team wants to slow down the Heisman candidate. On Saturday, the Arkansas Razorbacks defense played right into Newton?s hands, trying to stop him by sending extra pass rushers.

Cam Newton vs Arkansas
vs Blitz no Blitz
Comp-Att 8-9 2-5
Yards 132 8
TD 1 0

Newton came into the Arkansas game completing more than 70.0 percent of his passes against the blitz, with seven touchdowns and no interceptions. His pass efficiency rating of 258.4 against the blitz was exactly 100 points higher than his efficiency rating when a defense sends four rushers or fewer and drops into coverage. Yet, the Arkansas defense brought the blitz on more than 64 percent of Newton?s passes, and he made the Razorbacks pay. He completed eight-of-nine passes against Arkansas? added pressure, for 132 yards and a touchdown.

The LSU Tigers are next on Auburn?s schedule, and if the Tigers from Baton Rouge want to remain unbeaten, the defense must get pressure from the front four, and allow Patrick Peterson and the rest of the secondary to drop into coverage.

Miles answer to defending Cam Newton

"It becomes a very difficult situation, in my opinion, to put one guy on Cam Newton," Miles said. "It just doesn't seem to pay any dividends, to me.

"If I could have a spy that no one could see, or if I could have a guy on the field that didn't count, I would think that would be a great answer."

Just curious, what is this corndog thing about?

I agree - I hear this from other teams but do not know what it means.

My $0.02 on the game. The history of this games proves that it will be a close game. The -6 pts is a typical reaction to last week's games. LSU barely beat a team that sucks yet LSU could not have cared less about that games. They were already thinking of Auburn. Auburn beat Arkansas but if you watched the game Arkansas was winning late in that game and the score was not indicative of the game. Hence the larger line than what people expected.

Now, I will be taking the points because I am a homer but I believe that Les will once again screw this game up and the boys will lose because of it.
