I will start liftin a little on the weekends until the soreness goes away then maybe ramp it up a bit...

got up early for a 15 minute bike ride just to break a sweat...wanted 20-30...need to stop the excuses (bed was too warm, need more sleep...etc)

have a great day everyone!!!!

all you have to do is the math with calories and you'll lose exactly what you want in the time period you want. i have proved that to myself 3 times over the last 2 years.

just don't feel like putting in the time to calorie count. I would rather add a little exercise for the heart and head.

I really just eat the same thing all (work week) and change it up on the weekend with an hour on the bike on Sat and Sunday mornings.

I have coffee (black) when I wake up. I take levoxl for my thyroid (had half of it removed in Nov) and need an hour and a half after I take it before I can eat---although today I had a hard boiled egg and clementine with it...

I have a Kashi instant oatmeal at about 8:30ish

I have a salad with either grilled steak or chicken for lunch or a turkey/tuna sandwich on high fiber poket for lunch

I have a handful of nuts (assorted) or a fruit or a piece of toast with peanut butter or a couple cheese sticks for a snack when i get out of work at 3ish

then supper is another salad with lean meat or fish and some green veges for dinner

lots of water throughout the day and maybe another coffee depending on my mood (always black though---no sugar---no milk or cream)

I went from 229 to 196 like this in 2005 from January to the last week of April. I didn't keep it off though as i developed a pill habit and smoke lots of weed (have for the last 24 years but drug testing in July starting up so that has to go) and consumed mass quantities of beer.

good luck gents...Jack, I love your idea especially without the exercise, how long did it take to take the weight off?

Above the Clouds....
Started the day with a half cup of raison bran and a glass of water, Hard boiled egg and cheese for lunch. Dinner will be salad and a small piece of chicken breast. Couldn't do the 6 small meals today but I did have lots of water.

No sweets and no beer!

Exercise starts tomorrow.

Morris,

Seems to me (I am a doctor don't ya see?:mj07: ), you are eating way too little. If you can't fit in the 5-6 small meals, eat a little more at the rest. I would be starving on that small amount of grub...

Weighed in at a robust 225.5 this morning (-4.5lbs), must have been a lot of beer bloat from New Years eve and day....

Did a small circut while watching the biggest loser on the style channel (rode bike, some push ups, sit ups, light weights---wow am I out of shape----couldn't even do 10 pushups---that is flat out sad for a guy 39 years old)

need some din din now and hopefully I'll stay out of the garage (old smokin room)....:SIB

phew, tough one last night. Stayed out of the garage thankfully...

Lost another 3.5 lbs---I must have really been bloated. Down to 222. Ate great, since we didn't play cards (we have a Thursday game usually) I went to bed early after a little circut training of cardio and light weights with hig reps...

I expect things to get a little tougher over the weekend. We shall see..

Hope you all are doing well---keep the faith...

post good things to eat that are filling and low cal and snacks too.

i am having 'progresso' chicken gumbo soup right now for lunch and it's 18.5 ounces with anly 220 calories. there are a bunch of different flavors for around the 200 calorie range.

obviously salad and i like the wishbone italian zesty no fat. it's only 35 cals per 2 ounces so for 105 cals you can put a good bit on there.

yogurt anywhere from 60-100 cals

snacks in 100 calorie packs. they have all the different chips, different cookies, even decent tasting popcorn. 100 calorie snack.

i eat a lot of grilled chicken, lean grilled beef and the lean boneless porkchops. pretty low cal on all those.

NO SODAS, period. even the diet ones.

no fried food, no butter, no potatoes, no white bread.

healthy choice and lean cuisine microwave meals are around 250-300 cals.

i try to eat (5) meals at around 300 calories each as i'm sticking to 1500 or less cals per day. this takes off 10 pounds per month for a guy over 200 pounds.

you should write down everything you eat and add in the cals because it's easy to forget a bite of this and a bite of that. you're only cheating yourself anyway.

sugar free jello is a good snack at little to no cals.

cottage cheese mixed with fruit is good.

the smoothie i like is; one low fat yogurt, about 1 cup frozen strawberries, about 50 seedless grapes, 1 banana, 1/2 cup blueberries or whatever fruit you like. makes about 30 ounces, is filling, tastes great and all for 300 calories.

i'll add stuff later as i think of it.

Raison Bran for breakfast ( about 1 cup ) with a hand ful of dried cranberries.

Just can't seem to eat 5-6 small meals a day. What is a small meal between breakfast and dinner?

Baked fish and salad for dinner.

Water all day No beer and no sweets. Day 3.

Weighed in at 230 on NYD. Gained back some of what I had lost!

Weighed in at 230

me too! i thought i was 225 or less but i was afraid to weigh in the whole month of december because i didnt want to know. so now i have 20 to drop off.

the 5 little meals for me are 9-12-3-6 and a snack before bed.

i call them meals but one might be a smoothie. if i know i'm having a big dinner i'll skip a session. it's flexible, man :D
