That's kinda dumb statement too.

Lotta stupid flowing through the forum.

I hear alot of crap saying he will be the best ever. If he doesn't win another SB I'd think not. You can win a million games, have a trillion passing yards, throw for a thousand TD's, and have a QB rating into the hundreds. But if you fail in the spotlight then you are NOT the best. 9-9 in the playoffs tells me alot about Manning and the Colts. I'll take a leader and a clutch QB every time over that. It's all about the rings, who cares about the other trivial stuff.

OK, so the 2 choices are best ever or most overrated? Ridiculous. No matter what happens from here, he is certainly ONE of the best ever. Nobody is definitively the best - there are too many other factors. We all have favorites, but it's nearly impossible to gauge because the team around them and coaches have so much to do with it.

Mannings accomplishments already make him one of the best ever. Saying otherwise is just foolish.

Manning is the beneficiary of a great pass blocking offensive line. I must admit they are very good. He was not even close to being sacked and how many times was he really pressured. I thought there would be quite a few roughing the passers called but Green who did a good job never had a chance to call it. Compare what the Saints did to Favre with the sacks, constant pressure, hurries and the beating he took. Comparison isn't even close.

ok, how about very overrated? All I heard for 2 weeks was Manning this Manning that. Comparing him to Montana, which is ridiculous. After the first quarter he put 7 points on the board.
Christ, Favre moved the ball much better against the New Orleans Defense than Manning.
Brees season statistics were right there with Manning in every statistic, yet all the "experts" were talking about all week was Manning.
Truth of the matter is, he could never beat Florida, pretty much consistently struggled against Pittsburgh San Diego and New England in playoffs, and hence is a 50/50, mediocre playoff performer.

Marino only made it to one SB and got spanked, but he is (deservedly) always mentioned among the top few QB's of all time. Winning the SB helps, but it isn't everything. I believe you realize this but are too blinded by your Patriots myopia.
