The Leach interview on ESPN was pretty good.
He blasts both Adam and Craig James and shows no remorse whatsoever.
Got to love a guy who stands by what he did.

Also the trainers story makes it sound like he was putting James in a dark room for the concussion symptoms and not punishment. He said the closet was in the room but they never put him in it.
It would not shock me if Adam James went into the closet on his own and took the video acting like he was put in there.
This guy just looks like a smug prick and 90% of his teammates say he was. ESPN has pulled qutoes from like 2 or 3 players saying it was right to fire Leach. So they found James friends on the team and got quotes from them.
Interesting. I thought it was fucked up that the kid video texted being in the dark room. I would have never let him put me in there. My guess is the kid was acting like a baby so he told him to go into the room and relax and lay down till you feel better and the kid ratted him out and made it onto something way bigger than this really was.

It was good about time espn gave some one other than James a chance to speak.

I have just came to the conclusion that James, both of them, are bitches.

It seems like Craig was not happy with the playing time his son was getting and was pestering the coaching staff and leach about it.

I am sick of seeing Craig bitch about his family not wanting this and how his family is hurting.

If your family is hurting so much why are you on tv non stop talking about this and doing games. Take a leave of absence and be with your family who has been so hurt by all of this.

Art Briles is the only replacement referenced that I feel would give Tech a chance. I believe, however, his buyout clause is $4 million. Tech won't pay that, so we're stuck getting some never-has-been and headed back to mediocrity. Nice move, douchebags.[/QUOTE]

Unless I'm wrong and don't believe I am because the guy that told me works in the Baylor AD. Art Briles has it in his contract that he can terminate for the HC job at Tech.

I enjoyed it too, he will land on his feet and coach somewhere after next year, probably West coast

This is an interesting read from former TT WR coach and current UH off. coor. Dana Holgersen when James was recruited.

"I am writing this letter on behalf of Mike Leach in regards to the Adam James situation, I was the inside receiver coach at Texas Tech when we made the decision (to) sign Adam James in January of 2007. Adam had no offers to play NCAA D1 football during and after his senior year. After a conversation between Coach Leach and Adam's father Craig, Coach Leach acquired a brief highlight tape of Adam and made the decision to take him as a scholarship student athlete.

"I was opposed to doing so in (the) belief he was not a D1 football player, Coach Leach overrode my opinion and Adam became a Red Raider. During the rest of my time at Texas Tech I was Adam's position coach where I always remained critical of Adam's ability to play at this level due to being lazy in not only the classroom but also in the offseason and during practice.

"Coach Leach was the one who kept saying he believed Adam would eventually contribute. Adam's teammates believed he was selfish and were constantly getting on him for lack of effort as they sensed entitlement on his part due to his father being a very good football player. Adam eventually ended up playing a little after I left due to his body type being able to do some TE (tight end) sets which consists of around 5-10 plays a game.

"Adam should be thankful for the opportunity to play at Texas Tech and for Mike Leach, who gave him the opportunity," Holgorsen writes. "In my opinion playing 5-10 plays a game in an outstanding offense is more than he would get at any other school in NCAA D1 football."

The e-mail was sent Dec. 25.

Holgorsen was not available for comment Tuesday. However, he did issue a statement to FOX 26 through the University of Houston.

"I wrote this in support of Coach Leach for the sole purpose of the Texas Tech administration," Holgorsen said in his statement. "Coach Leach is someone I have worked with, played for and known since 1989."

I thought he might have a shot at the job but I doubt it after showing support to the school for Leach.
