Not really. I've just learned that to look cool around here, when you don't understand something, just call someone gay. Then you're cool again. There were a lot of words that looked kind of gay, there, no offense.

Oh - you are correct, Chadman. Fat Daddy's sexuality was definitely being mocked in the French language. My last post was sorta following the '40 Year Old Virgin' "You know how I know your gay" dialogue.

Vive le Bloc de Cellule "H"!

1. What would you say is "Your Song" (the song that you can most identify with) and why?

2. What artist would you pick to listen to in solitary confinement for one year?

3. What is the one artist/group that is typically considered great/revolutionary/incredible that you just don't get?

4. What is the best concert performance you've ever experienced, and maybe why?

5. Name two artists/groups that have a song that you like, but would never admit it because FatDaddyCool would say you were gay?

That's enough. Not supposed to be a test, just might be fun. Cheers.

1. Black Flag - I've Heard It Before
2. Sonic Youth
3. The Beatles (and I've tried, both sober and stoned. I hate them.)
4. Godspeed You! Black Emperor but I'm seeing Sonic Youth next week so that answer will change.
5. Depeche Mode maybe?

That's amazing. Nobody ever mentions them for any reason ever. Very interesting, strange group from Montreal.

Their live show was like a religious experience. They played for two and a half hours and it seemed like 30 minutes tops. If you've never seen them live, do whatever you have to do to make it happen.

Great response to question #1. As Chadman stated, I didn't give the questions too much thought, but had I, I might have answered the same way you did.
Saw Black Flag several times and have seen both Henry Rollins and Greg Ginn solo, too.

Awesome. Never got a chance to see the Flag but I have seen Rollins a few times, both with band and spoken word and got to meet the man. Nice guy but I wouldn't want to piss him off. :142smilie

Mary acts like she don't care"

Great to see "The Boss" and one of his songs mentioned, Stevie.
I'll get in later when I have more time, but I would go for him, too. Too many of his songs to pick out a possible fave, tho.

I feel the same way. i hope that doesn't make us gay but it probably does! I got to admit I like the skinny Bruce better than the Rambo Bruce though. Seriously, I liked the way he has aged with his audience. Guys like Steven Tyler and Jagger are still trying to play to teens.

Yeah smurph call me gay in French all the time, which is somewhat ironic in itself when you think about it. I mean if it wasn't for the Turks and their quest for an alternative to the women that were off limits............the French wouldn't have invented gay butt sex first. Unfortunately, that didn't happen and now due to French gay love butt babies, we have French-Canadians. I know, its unfortunate, but nothing I can do about it. Can't dispute history, ya know?

You see Chadman, I don't mind being called gay, especially by a guy that not only likes Morrisey(which automatically puts you on the V.I.P. list of every gay bar in North America), but is the bastard child of a gay French Turkish butt love exodus. History is a bitch.............I don't try to fight it bro.

My banter with FatDaddyCool got me to thinking (hey, I drive 2.5 hours a day, gotta lotta time to think) how subjective music is, and ripping other people for their like of music is kind of pointless. Fun, yes, but pointless. Love and importance of music is pretty much a product of your life and what you've gone through. I thought I would start a thread and ask a few short questions, and see what songs/groups have influenced lives around here, and why. Might be interesting. Might be stupid. I dunno, we'll see. Don't waste a lot of time thinking...I'm sure there are plenty of songs/groups that will come to you if you think long enough. Just have some quick fun with this one.

How did I know you would play the butt sex card? So predictable is the Fat Daddy. You and your intense friend are so obsessed with writing about gay sex acts, it's ...well is what it is I guess. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Le Morrissey is the bomb diggity.

Lots of love,
smurphy:kiss:

PS: Vous jamais chiffrerez que je ne sois pas fran?ais ou canadien ?

Well, I am just assuming that you are French-Canadian. I could be wrong. Not normally, but possible still the same.

i never bought an album, record, tape cassete, or cd and thinks its all a waste of money. A simple fm radio is okay for me. Never understood the people who are so into music. I know one type of music im not into and that is that shit rap and i could take or leave Country. Id rather listen to talk radio. As far as handicapping is concerned you would be surprised at some of the jewels you can find that turns into real cash if you can read between the lines. If i had to buy somebody's alblum tho it would have been Guns and Roses. Thought their music was about as good as it gets for music that is.

Another reason I'm gay: I always admit that I like The Smiths because they are simply one of the greatest bands ever.

Sounds like a lot of us Smiths/Morrissey fans are coming out of the closet. ...As for Justin, well it's hard not to acknowledge 'Sexy back'. Definitely don't WANT to like the guy, but ....
