Not much worth reporting; cold winter, ran heater once last year, this year heat on most of Dec-Feb in evenings and nite.
Daytime highs in 60's thru mid 70's last few weeks, trees been in bloom for about a couple weeks.
The "Quad" (Imperial Palace) is open during remodeling with gaming tables starting at $5.00....brighter color scheme and new lighting by same people that did "Redrock Resort.
Casino"
Terry Fator show (about $79) Monday nite was a blast. Good family fun, no profanity...very talented singer, ventriloquest. Puppet Characters run the spectrum from Winston the turtle, Elvis Impersonator, Country singer, Soul Singer, Duggie the stoner entpreneur, to an "Out of the closet" type.
The funniest part was a picked spectator chosen to dress as Dolly Parson and fitted with a remote controlled mask, Terry did the rest.
A fun thing in Vegas for us, is shopping thrift stores....saw the most amazing thing today; a 6 foot tall Chinese crossdresser...."her" cart was full of treasures... a month a go I picked up a high dollar European leather jacket for $9.00.
It amazes us, the quality and quantity of fine shoes and clothes that can be had for next to nothing.
Many thrifts get the leftovers from trade shows and closed exhibits...I picked up official "Titanic" exhibit caps for 25 cents (nice family gifts)
One thrift had hundreds of Dealer, Food service, Valet, outfits from the recently closed "Bills" gambling hall...picked up a high dollar chefs smock for my Brother in law for $3.99.
Vacation winding down for us...we are revisiting our most favorite eating places and stocking up on summer clothes for home.
Been a fun 3 months, looking forward to winning some March Madness money.
The slots and video poker has been mostly unkind to us, the poker gods have lately been brutalizing my bankroll....have never seen a run of bad cards as long as this.
I guess that is why there are SO many churches in Las Vegas....I can almost hear the anguished pleas on Sunday mornings...Dear Lord, "Baby needs a new pair of shoes".
