why are they vegans?

A vegan is someone who tries to live without exploiting animals, for the benefit of animals, people and the planet. Vegans eat a plant-based diet, with nothing coming from animals - no meat, milk, eggs or honey, for example. A vegan lifestyle also avoids leather, wool, silk and other animal products for clothing or any other purpose.

Some of the main reasons for choosing a vegan lifestyle

It?s a healthy choice

A balanced vegan diet (also referred to as a ?plant-based diet?) meets many current healthy eating recommendations such as eating more fruit, vegetables and wholegrains and consuming less cholesterol and saturated fat. Balanced vegan diets are often rich in vitamins, antioxidants and fibre and can decrease the chances of suffering from diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke and some cancers. Well-planned plant-based diets are suitable for all age groups and stages of life.

I really think their main focus is staying away from all the different chemical that we pump into the live stock and spay on the fruits and veggies.........so no meats, dairy and they eat only local organic produce. In Portland, OR it's a very commom lifestyle.

Just out of curiosity has he had his immunizations? We have a couple of parents around here that refuse to have their kids inoculated so now they can not attend regular school. They believe the shots will cause issues. Downs, Autism, etc.

That explanation is a pure cut and paste job from www.vegansociety.com. Watch the plagiarism please as we don't need to get Jack in any trouble. I would think paid posters would use better judgment and try to be somewhat original.

Next thing you know we will find out all your swanky pictures of food and cigars aren't really taken at your table at the Booby Trap.

My son and his wife are both 34.........no shots. So by this line you say that your Son and his wife have no shots? Why is that? Is that because they are vegans? What about your 2.5 grandchild? He has his shots right?

Hedge asks another question..........

Yet you choose not to answer...........do hate hedgie or something?

So when your grandson is sick, instead of taking the little guy to the doctor, your son is going to stick acupuncture needles into him? What the fuck is going on here?

Jim Henson, creator of The Muppets died from a complication that developed from a case pneumonia. He had felt ill for days but because of his belief in Eastern Medicine, Jim refused medical treatment by licensed physicians. By the time he was taken to the Emergency Room he was no longer able to breathe on his own and died the following day.
