For me this is easy, you take the Pacer plus the points for your entire bet. A shot at approx. $20000 with very little exposure.
I'd be surprised if this wasn't a close game. It may not work out, but it seems like the most logical thing to do.

Pacers are at +170 for the game. If you bet $5000 you win back $8500, down $1500 or so.

my opinion is leave it.

I like you Scott

just some opinions. Leave the bet alone.
I have no idea who will win game 7.

If 10k is too much for you to have bet in the first place, then you shouldn't have made the bet anyway.
If your exposure is too big then you shouldn't have made the bet in the first place.

You knew all these things when you placed the bet. If you liked them before not much has changed to make you dislike them now.

They have to win one game at home period.

Leave the bet and hope they win.

If you do decide to hedge a little, don't touch the moneylines, take the points and hope to middle.

Right now its Pacers +4 but looks like some $$$ now going on Indiana. So it might go back to 3.5. Who knows.

Boston has lost 2 straight home games to Indiana. Will they lose 3 in a row at home? Boston did win 2 "crucial" games and both were AT Indiana. This Boston team gets the job done when its a must win game. Game 4 and especially game 6 were must wins.

$10,000 is a lot of $$$ for me. But the good news is I have won around $18,000 since UNC won the NC in ncaa hoops. (18k includes the 10k won on UNC) So I am dealing with profit but 10k is still a lot of $$$ and it is my biggest NBA wager EVER.

I am clueless what to do. Part of me wants to leave it. Part of me wants to bet 5k on the Pacers ML. Part of me wants to bet 5k on Pacers +pts and hope for middle. What a struggle this is. The thing is I HATE this celtics team. They really play stupid and they should have won this series already.

When I placed my bet, I expected Boston to win this series in 5 or 6 games with possibly a sweep. Pacers were not playing great ball coming into playoffs and they got blown out in game 1. Celtics were playing good ball coming into playoffs AND just blew out pacers. Pacers were an injured squad but they somehow got healthy as this series progressed. MAJOR BUMMER! Especially Tinsley coming back. I also hoped for Miller to suck and have his age take a toll. He has been HOT and COLD. Boston is healthy, younger, and more talented. Yet they struggle big time.

But the biggest bummer was Boston blowing game 2. Boston wins game 2 this series would have been OVER! That really fawked me.

I am gonna study this thing tonight and tom. I welcome all opinions on this game 7 and anybody's take. I appreciate those who offering advice.

I also could roll the dice in the first half and see how it plays out and maybe do something 2h. I say its a higher probability Celtics blow out Pacers vs Pacers blowing out Celtics. So waiting for 2h might not be a bad option. Then again, this is one fawked up series.

HERE IS A STAT I LIKE!!!

:scared Home teams are 72-16 in NBA Game 7s :scared

Here is something else that is in Celtics favor.

Jackson says teammates blame him for Game 6 loss

As I finished typing this, just heard the ESPN dudes saying Indiana will win game 7 because of experience and Oneal being dominant big man except Stevie A Smith picks Boston.

IMO, home court helps the home team's non star players and hurts the away team's non star players. The star players on both teams should have big games, maybe slight edge to home teams star players.

ok scott
you could leave it and rest your laurels in home teams being 72-16 in game 7's (you could take in the ass from beantown)

or you could play the pacers + points
this game will be close regardless of the line
its freaking game 7 and Miller doesnt want to go home yet...

Thats crossed my mind. If I leave the bet as is, it prob. will be a tight game. Even if Celtics are up 8pts with 3min. left it still and prob. will go down to wire. So right now I am leaning that way in taking Pacer +pts but I want more pts! :)

After the game, there is good chance I will second guess myself. Pacers win i will wish i took ML. Celtics win more than spread then I will be upset I took Pacer +pts or Pacers ML. If Celts win but not cover spread, I will kick myself for not taking Pacers +pts. Celtics really screwed this up for me. Guess I am lucky game is AT Boston so it gives me these opportunities.

As of right now I think I am going to press my luck and keep the Boston bet. I have mixed feelings on tonights game, which is a sign pointing me to middle or hedge it taking Pacers +pts or ML. But I am trying to ignore those mixed feelings and put my faith in the Celtic green to win game 7 at home.

This is a wild and unpredictable series. So past history doesn't mean a whole lot but it def. is in my favor if I stick with my Celtics Bet to win series.

Home teams are 72-16 in NBA Game 7s

The Celtics are 14-2 when they host Game 7.

Indiana is 1-3 in Game 7s in the NBA playoffs.

Indiana was 19-22 as the visitor during the regular season, while the Celtics were 27-14 at home.

i believe that 14-2 for Celtics in game 7 are the "old school" celtics
with Bird, McHale, Parish
Bill RUssell, BOb Cousy, etc
dont be "mislead"

Scott - I know we disagree on college football. But most of the time we have the same opinions on basketball. Let me tell you this - The Pacers are done. There is some serious turmoil going on with this team. Leave the bet alone - even though I always hedge my big bets. I think the Celtics will cover and I have 500.00 on them tonight. GL

From reading that I would have to say your goose is cooked.

You will probably come in and say you hedged it after the game anyway.

I am fine with us disagreeing about CFB, but glad we both like Boston tonight! I hope they come through. You might be biased against USC because of the beatings my Trojans have put on the Domers. ;) (just kidding) ND will be back and ND still leads in the rivalry

Gravy thanks and prob. all those stats have little do with any of the current Celtic players. But like I said, the NBA history stats do support the Celtics. :) Can't you see I am reaching! I gotta stick with my bet and win it. If I placed it I should keep it. Maybe if Celts suffered a key injury or suspension then I def. would hedge/middle. Or if it was AT Indiana. I had opportunites to buy back/hedge and didn't and celts came through. Although I def. would have bought back my bet if Celts won game 5 at Boston cuz Pacers would hav ebeen +300 to win series. I would take that! If line was 5pts then I would consider the middle more but its only at 3.5 which is tough for me to middle since I don't to middle in the first place. So right now looks like I am keeping my bet and praying for Celts win! :) Although your adice to middle prob. is the smartest thing. Cuts my potential losses in half and gives me possible huge payday. If Boston covers spread, I break even. Not bad option but I don't like a 3pt middle. I want 5 or 6pt middle and I am not getting it. :cursin:

EDIT:

Pacers are also 0-13 in a series when they lose the 1st game.

That helps! :)

:scared ITS GAMETIME! :scared

Like I said earlier, I am keeping my bet. I see there are multiple great cappers taking both Boston and Indiana tonight. Another sign that I should hedge but I am not. I just hope the Boston backers are thinking blowout and Pacer backers are thinking 2pt loss! :)

The way I look at it. Boston should have won series already but they are still playing. Pacers should have won game 6, especially when it was handed to them and they didn't. Now its game 7 @Boston, Celtics should win. Pacers had there chance and blew it.

For most of the series Boston has spotted Indiana 10pts early and yet the series is tied 3-3. For most of the series the refs have given the Pacers a HUGE free throw disparity, yet series is tied 3-3.

Game 1 Celts blow out Pacers.

Game 2 Celts blow it and Pacers win by 3pts despite Celts not playing good ball.

Game 3 Celts play poorly @Indiana, Pacers play great, Pacer blowout

Game 4 Celts without starter Walkers wins @Indiana in crucial game. Indiana couldn't close it.

Game 5 Pacers win @Boston by 5pts where Boston played poorly. Yet they only lost by 5pts.

Game 6 @Indiana Boston wins crucial game. More importantly it was a close game and on road. Big props to Boston. Bad for Indiana.

Game 7 @Boston, I don't think Indiana will win 3 straight games @Boston and what will Indiana do if Boston plays well? They beat Boston twice on road but in both games Boston played poorly yet Boston only lost by 3pts and 5pts and 1/2 they blew it. I think game 7 Boston plays well and Boston has stepped up in both crucial games in this series and both were on road. This one is a little easier to step up since its @Boston.

Therefore, I am rolling the dice thinking Boston is the better team and the better team should win @home. Indiana has played hard throughout the series but they have not been good enough to put dagger through the Celtics. That will cost them as they lose game 7! Hopefully its a blowout so I don't have to sweat it out.

GO CELTICS!

Very happy with 1q, but tad disappointed as well. S. Jackson for Pacers got lucky bounce in on 3pt shot. Celtics missing all their 3pt shots. Payton missing layup. Walker missing 2 free throws sucks. Other than that, I gotta be estactic that the Celtics didn't spot the Pacers 10pts. Plus Pierce looks good. Now I need. R. Davis to play well in 2q and hopefully I will ca$h. Pierce, Walker, and Davis playing well is what it will take for Pacers to win. 2/3 have mismatches in their favor.

Celtics only down by 2pts at 1q, but they still play stupid. Fouling Pacers at end of quarter and giving them 2 free pts. Too many turnovers as well.

i havent even been paying attention to the playoffs..... but i made a 2h play on the celts (-4). i made that play for one reason: you have the best luck out of anyone ive ever seen when it comes to pulling a victory out of the jaws of defeat on your big plays. do it again, lol!

Thanks gman2 but guess what.

I bet Pacers +4 2h $7,500 to win $7,500

Taking a $2,500 guaranteed loss. UNLESS BOSTON WINS BY 1pt!!! :mj07:

I don't like what I am seeing. Boston could be up by 10pts if they played well. I stuck with them in game 7 because I thought they would play well. They are down 3 and not getting any breaks to win game. In addition, going 6min. in 2q with NO PTS is absurd. They deserve to lose!

I rather take the 2.5k loss and bet 7.5k on something else instead of risk losing 10k on the Celtics. Game 7 at home I was hoping they would JUMP on Indiana. Instead they go 6 min. no pts.

Boston may win but I honestly think its 50/50 and that is factoring in home court for Boston.

GOOOOOO CELTICS! WIN BY 1pt!!!!!!! :mj07:
