If both teams played again. This might also be my prediction. USC gets that 4th and 2 and converts. Simple as that. Or VY gets tackled on 4th and 5.

I would agree that Vince was one of the best statistical performances ever but if you watched the game, Matt led them on 5 straight TD drives, are you telling me that isn't all impressive? He put up over 350 yards passing against a Texas defense. I didn't say better than Vince I said he had a great game, if you disagree I think you need to take off the Organe burnt glasses, he torched your defense in the second half. 16/18 in the second half I believe

I dont wear glasses. He was excellent in the 2nd half. Hats off to him. He was very very good last night.

VINCE YOUNG WAS SIMPLY GREAT.

Clearly the better team won last night, just the way it should be.

As mentioned above, USC got at least a yard on that spot on the 4th and 2 play.

Texas got an interception taken away, although Young was definitely down at the 10 yard line on that pitch play.

Texas just wanted it more and showed more heart and Leinart showed himself to be a pissy bitch during the press conference.

Nice run by USC and congrats on their 1 national championship.

I agree about the difference in Special teams as well. I also think Texas had more than a few injuries that killed their defense by the end of the game. Vince Young was the best player on the field last night but his receivers were not. I don't have the stats in front of me but on offense it was clearly the Young and Thomas show. I agree that the Texas D is clearly better than SC, I think SCs offense is clearly better than Texas. They just have too many weapons in Lineart, Bush, White, Jarrett. Bush all night was trying to do too much and the offensive playcalling didn;t put him in too many opps to consistently succeed. Texas D clearly gunned for him and it was obvious they were trying to force the ball to him in the early going

Yeah Scott if you wouldnt mind address how you thought ML handled that PC after the game.

I always kinda liked ML & really respected him for coming back for this last season instead of taking the $$$.

But last night he did come off as a spoiled, pissy little bitch. Kinda like a little kid that didnt get his way or what he thought was owed to him....all the fame & glory that VY took from him last night. Only positive he said about VY was he was a 'freakish athlete'. His comments definately soured me on him.

Bush & Carroll on the other hand were very gracious & I appreciated thier comments.

Kosar: Not sure why Lineart was a whiny bitch, just said his team didn't make plays when they needed to. He feels his team was the better team...I would hope he felt that way.

Do you think when Texas roughed up OSU at the shoe that Hawk and Smith didn't feel like they were the better team?

Even though your team lost to Penn St., I've heard Buckeye fans saying they should have finished third in the polls???? Face it both ND and OSu are annoying fans...sorry had to comment on the sig because i live in Columbus

Yes on the Jarrett diving TD, Starting CB Brown broke him arm. MLB Harris was cramping & dinged from the 2nd Q on & DE Robinson bruised his ribs.

I think UT WRs did what they needed to, they havent been asked to win games for them. They are all also all very young...Frosh & Sophs the whole lot. This team was but around VY & a dominating OL. USC couldnt put any pressure on VY without sending the house on the blitz & when they did that VY did his WR fro some big plays on the 1st of UTs late 4Q TD drives...

Leinarts comments showed no class and he came off as a sore loser. He also might as well have said, 'our defense f*cked us.'

I'm sure Hawk and Smith think/thought OSU is/was better than Texas, and Smith will have a chance at revenge next year in Austin, but they didn't sqawk about it publically after having just lost to them at home. That just sounds stupid still publically claiming to be the better team right after a legitimate loss. (no big flukes or extremely lucky plays to decide the game)

I don't see why OSU should be ahead of PSU, USC or Texas, but who cares about whether they end up 3rd of 4th. What difference does it make? I don't doubt that some Buckeye fans up there are saying that, and I would ask them the same thing. Who cares?

Leinart knows White came up short 2 inches 4th and 2.

Leinart knows he himself came up inches short in 1h on QB sneak already up 7-0.

Leinart knows he threw an INT in 1h on USC scoring drive when USC was gashing Texas D on ground with White. No need to risk that pass but Texas made great play on INT.

Leinart knows BUSH royally FAWKED UP on pitch/fumble.

Leinart knows the last time he lost a game was triple OT @CAL in 2003.

Leinart was asked questions and he answered them honestly. It is quite clear USC lost the game themselves. They know it but Texas played 4 quarters, Texas also made costly mistakes, both teams battled despite mistakes, and it was great game. If Texas came up short on 4th and 5, they can pt finger at the kicker costing them 4pts. Bush thing was simply never should have happened. Missing kicks, INT's, fumbles happen. Bush pitch NEVER should have happened. Changed the game. Bush can only redeem himself if he comes back to USC next year. :mj07:

No, it's quite clear that they were outplayed and the better team won. Just say it, it won't kill you.

You keep implying that USC handed the game to them. You know what, stupid plays like Bush's pitch are a part of the game. Not being able to get 2 yards, despite getting a full yard on the spot, is part of the game.

Say it, Scotty! The better team won, the better team won, the better team won. Free yourself, sista!

I had a different take on Lineart's comments, his basic line was we didn't make plays when we needed to do, they did. He still felt they were the better team, they just didn't make the plays. Maybe I missed something though. Not sure what else he could have said, "wow Texas clearly is the best team in the nation" than he disrespects his teammates. I guess Bottom line Texas won, therefore scoreboard.

Kosar, just poking fan, I'm more of an ND homer but I have a huge appreciation for Tressel ball . Just living here in Columbus and listening to 1460, you run into a share of classless people that are unrealistic about their team. hell a few were calling for his head last year. Just making a point that there are good/bad ND and OSu fans but I would say we're both in the top 5 of most obnoxious

lol- I admit nothing!

But seriously, after moving from Ohio I was immersed in Notre Dame country for 15 years and man.....

But also having lived in Ohio I *guess* I can see your point about some Buckeye fans....kinda. :)

USC definately the better TEAM, but Vince Young PLAYED THE BEST 4th QUARTER!

Thats it, you can boil it down, stir fry it, saute it, whatever you want to do. Thats what it breaks down to.

BOTH TEAMS PLAYED LIKE CRAP AT TIMES. Both teams looked brilliant in the second half.

USC proved to be the better team BECAUSE WHEN BOTH TEAMS WERE PLAYING WELL IN THE SECOND HALF THEY PUT THEMSELVES IN A POSITION TO WIN, UP 12 WITH 4 MIN LEFT!!! And they did that coming from 6 down at halftime!!

Thats when ONE PLAYER, not one team, ONE PLAYER, Vince Young rose above the other 21 men on the field and played his heart out, and came back to win the game.

USC WAS the better team, no doubt. You CANT play a lousy game and still be in position to win LATE IN THE 4TH if you are not the better team!! Simple as that. But Vince Young was the BEST PLAYER in the 4th quarter, and his performance was enough to guide Texas to victory.

Those who bet on USC were on the WRONG SIDE! They bet the better team, BUT The potential for great single player performances is an intangible that you must account for when capping. Certain teams have certain players that are capable of taking over the game. You CANT bet against those teams, in certain spots.

I bet basketball too, mostly NBA. Think of it this way. The 76ers are not a great team. The opposition covers the spread PLENTY against them. BUT they are a team I DONT BET AGAINST! Why? Because when Iverson drops 60, the other teams gonna have a tough time winning, and its unpredictable and he can do it on ANY GIVEN NIGHT!! Every team doesnt have a guy like that. So if the Spurs play the Sixers, and the sixers pull an upset, do you say that the Sixers were the BETTER team because Iverson dropped 55? NOPE. The spurs ARE THE BETTER TEAM, but ONE PLAYER performed better than anyone else that night. End of STORY!!

Yeah, USC doesn't have any players capable of an outstanding game, huh?

But they DIDNT do it, did they??

IFmy aunt had balls she'd by my uncle!!

Having the potential and actually doing it are two different things. Young played his best game. If Bush, Leinhart, and Co. played their best game, they woulda won

Amazing how some people see things! One player beats USC and USC is the better team? Think about that statement for a minute!!

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Actually Texas mediocre defense had alittle to do with it, defensive backs, and number 16. Also USC defense couldn't stop a middle school offense and if Texas wouldnt have killed themselves from start(fumbled punt) till almost end(missed field goals and extra points and stalling themselves to blame inside usc 20 yard line) would have been real ugly azz whipping!!

Both teams made mistakes and hurt themselves early. USC couldve wrapped the game up when it was 7-0, the fumble by Bush and the botched QB sneak couldve made it 21-0 man.

Both teams had spots where they looked brilliant too.

That is my final comment to you dlvlsu, because you have a lower IQ than the chair I'm sitting in and EVERYONE knows arguing with you is a waste of time
