Prior to moving to Indianapolis for the 1984 season, the Colts called Baltimore their home. The Baltimore Colts had played in Baltimore since 1953, at Memorial Stadium, which they shared with the Baltimore Orioles (MLB). Prior to the Colts decision to move to Indianapolis, the city already had a dome stadium under construction in 1982. The city decided to build the stadium because of its adaptability to accommodate a variety of events, including football. Meanwhile in Baltimore, the Colts were dissatisfied with the conditions of Memorial Stadium and decided to move to Indianapolis after the 1983 NFL season. Originally named the Hoosier Dome, grand opening ceremonies took place on May 3, 1984

Jack - And to think if the Colts had stayed in Baltimore you could be rooting for a winning team week after week . :SIB

I have noticed that since Jack has been around my thread, the bashers have really kept their distance. Well there was that one guy esmerelda that wanted Jack to kiss his ass.

Really though, its a comfort thing knowing the boss is so close by.

Jack

PS - this guy is probably going to have to be dealt with on some level at some point.

He is completely out of control.

I would like to see a picture of him wearing that black helmet hat though.

" The Colts run pretty much the same defensive scheme week in and week out. If they are faced with a team with a trio of solid receivers, they can be vulnerable deep. The Patriots are far from a vanilla team. They already know what Indy will do scheme-wise but Indy won't have any clue what the Patriots are going to do until after they've already been punched in the mouth.

Tom Brady has proven this season that he's not just the NFL's best quarterback but he may right now be its best passer as well. There's a difference. But the patience Brady has exhibited is masterful. Last week the Redskins defense took away Randy Moss and Donte' Stallworth early, forcing Brady to use his third, fourth, fifth and even sixth options. Didn't bother him for a moment. Brady checked down often to his backs, threw to tight ends, hit Wes Welker and even ran it in when open.

"We thought if we slowed them down early Tom would become impatient and try to force it to his two main receivers. It never happened," said a Redskins source. "That was really impressive. He was just as happy dinking and dunking as he was going deep. He took what we gave him and never lost patience with it."

This is the game Bill Belichick has been waiting for since a year ago. Tony Dungy has the most recent notch on his belt and he and the Colts went about this off-season trying to stay on top against the league. The Patriots went about this off-season gearing up for a chance to once again dominate one single team, the Colts. Their entire off-season was based upon this single game and the next time, when they face the Colts in the postseason.

"(Belichick) is the master," one personnel executive told me this week. "He seems to be able to utilize his personnel, 53 man and dressing 45 each and every week, better than anyone else in the National Football League. Everyone has a roll and he dresses the right guys for those rolls each and every week. He has a knack of knowing exactly what he wants, finds the right personnel to fit the rolls and gets the players to understand what those rolls are. He gets the most out of every player on that roster."
