Nominated for Oscar, best picture? Seriously? Why?
One negative for me right out of the gate is, it's in black and white. Why? I hate fuckin black and white movies. Bruce Dern is boring, his son is a goofy nerd. Now, the old lady who played Dern's wife was really good. She's the highlight of the flick.
It's about an old (kinda senile) man who thinks he won a million dollars. He has one of those Publishers Clearing House mailers, and he's bound and determined to go to Nebraska to collect (he lives in Montana). He'll even walk. So, the son decides to drive him there to satisfy Dad and we get to see the road trip. I guess the big moment in the movie is them visiting the town where he grew up. :jerkit:
This movie is a serious 'Bad Grandpa'. At least I got a couple laughs from the Jackass movie.
I'll give it 3/10 because I actually watched the whole movie without falling asleep.
Don't waste your time.
I really don't understand all the hype about this movie so it's probably just me, but I think it's just a sympathetic vote for aging Bruce Dern.
