Hey Everyone,
I've seen how helpful people here have been with other similiar post and just want to get some opinions on my current job situation.
Here's the deal. A recruiting company got me an interview with a top financial institute. I went to the interview and did well. The second interview did not go as well as the first but not that bad either. I called my recruiter and he said that I got the job and that I would be offered anywhere from 40K-45K. Okay, sounds good. The problem is that the company wants me to come in and find out if I like the feel of the company since I'm making a career change (I have a degree in engineering). My pay, $8 an hour during the test phase.
Well, this definitely did not sound good in to me so I called the recruiter and told him my situation. Well, he was baffled and told me to call the person I interviewed with. Okay.
I give him a call (he's also a manager but of a different location, just want to let you know that he wasn't somebody in human resources) and he tells me that I will be getting paid somewhere between 42K-43K. Okay.
Hmmm. WTF is going on. The branch I will be working for tells me $8 an hour during my test phase with no mention of an offer and I get told by both my recruiter and this branch manager that I have the job and the offer will be between 42K-43K.
What do you all think I should do? I start my test phase tomorrow. Should I go through the test phase and hope for the best or should I get something down in writing?
Thanks everyon.
