need feedback on site load time - speed

for me it's faster than ever before. how is the site speed for you guys? all feedback appreciated.

tomorrow between 11 and 12 will be the real test.

we handled 1800 users last night without any problem.

see what happens.

the site has been slower for me than usual since it has been back up, but that could be due to several factors. i will give it a few days for everything to refresh before passing final judgment.

i am going to get this thing running smooth for everybody no matter what it takes.

i'm on dialup and the pages load instantly.

Jack: Just my 2 cents and I have High Speed Internet.

When I click on the Madjacks icon saved on my desktop it's a little quicker than before.

When I click on let's say General Discussion it's about the same......but.....

When I click on a certain thread to open, for me it is slower.

Not sure why. Sometimes it takes about 5 to 10 seconds to open each thread. Weird!!! Other sports site are slower in each of the 1st 2 areas (clicking icon and clicking MLB, NFL, etc) but faster when specifying each thread I want to read.

TJ, try this. I had the same problem with one of my computers so i deleted all the temp internet files, deleted all cookies and deleted my history. the first few times loading this site is very slow but after everything is cached it helped a lot. try that and let me know.
it might take 10 clicks or so before it really kicks in. if that doesn't work, at least i have something to ask tech support about.

This place is flying now, never have had it faster and I use a cable modem.

I literally wait no more than 1 second and the pages come up.

Jack: Everyday I do the delete cookies, delete temp files, and clear history.

I also do the disc cleanup almost everyday as well. When I just clicked on your site just now, it was fast until I clicked on this thread and it took about 6 seconds to open. It's like click on Madjacks and about 1 to 2 seconds the site is up. Click on General Discussion and another second or to, but click on the thread You started and it was 6 seconds to open! Weird, eh???

I did notice the faster time when actually posting!

i think it's a history or cookie thing because i had the exact problem but after i cleaned all that chit, it fixed it. you sure you cleaned them up today?

TJ, one more thing to try. log out and then delete your temps, cookies and history. then log back in. this really, really helped me.

everybody else that is not experiencing faster load time should delete all temp internet files, cookies and history.

we changed to a new IP and that could be causing the temporary problems some are having. lots of things are being or were being redirected to the new IP so we didn't have to wait for name servers to catch up.

I have High Speed Cable Internet. I find it the same as before speed no faster. I wll let you know after the weekend.

this thread took 16 seconds to fully load....bout the same as before probably, although never timed it before.

I agree ... very fast except during crunch times when I sometimes give up on trying to post or even view posts occasionally.

mama, i assume you're on dialup. do what i said above. 16 seconds is unacceptable. that's about what i had before. it's about 3-5 seconds now.

i guess it won't improve for the highspeed users. they fly around the net anyway.

tonight, in the wee early hours, i'm shutting down to do some optimizing. we'll see how that goes.
