I'm sure some of you guys get these things for football and whatnot, but the local bowling alley has a World Series "tabs" going for $20. You get a tab for each of the first four games and the 'final' game. These are those "55 tip" pull tabs. They pay either way?

Well, you know how it goes........you usually get 7-7 for baseball, and 1-0 for football, right?

Well, I plop my twenty down, pick my packet out of the baggie, and here's what I get:

Gm 1: 2-2
Gm 2: 1-0
Gm 3: 0-0
Gm 4: 3-4
Fin G: 0-0

I would be happy with ANY of those tickets, let alone getting ALL of them in one packet! Hitting one inning pays back the twenty, anything else is bonus.

Now.......I just hope to see a shutout in game three!

Where it is real F ing COLD
Nice numbers. The local bar where I run the MLB 33 board had a $100/100 square board for each inning and it runs cumulative throughout the sorld series.. So if the Series ends in four and you have the final, you make a boatload..

I thought it was neat.. I missed out, I haven't been to that bar in 2 weeks and it sold out in days..

If they are like every number I've had he won when the 3rd ended 2-2. If the 4th inning ends at 2-2 he'll win again.

Since it's a "double number" 2-2 versus say 2-3 then he may even win double since there is only one 2-2.

Is this just a WI thing?

So basically

1-0 and 0-1 won the 1st inning.
2-0 and 0-2 won the second.
2-2 won the 3rd and 4th inning.

Some people call them "numbers" or "tickets" in the Green Bay area.

They pay right way/wrong way, so it doesn't matter which team has what score. It pays $20 every inning.

So, I made $40!

I still have shots at winning on the other numbers in the remaining games, as well.

Never heard of it, and sounds like you need mutiple advanced degrees to understand. Glad you won, though.

Somewhere in Corn Country
we do various dollar amounts of a progressive scoring pool for the WS at the bowling alley. Last week we filled the 10 and 5 dollar sheets just like that and I showed up a bit early last night to check on the 1 and 2 dollar sheets and they were still 1/3 empty.
had to go around and bother all the non-baseball fans to get them filled before 1st pitch. Ended up owning a few more squares than I wanted to but we got them filled.

That sucks that a "double number" pays the same as 2-1 for instance. I wonder if there are two 2-2 tickets on their board then.

No double numbers. There are 55 tickets. One ticket for every combo. The bar always pays "50" tickets towards the winnings, and pockets the other 5.

0-0, 0-1, 0-2......0-9. Now, all the zeros are gone. So the ones start: 1-1, 1-2, 1-3......1-9. It goes right on up

It doesn't suck that the 2-2 pays the same as the 3-2, because there is no 2-3. The only way having a double number matters as far as payment goes, is in a 100 number pool that pays "right way/wrong way".

(I didn't know these things would be so confusing on a gambling site!)

:mj07:

Anyway..........I have 1-0 tonight, and I like the odds on at least getting an inning home!

do I see a bet for you on a score in 1st inning as both teams top hitters are up and think if you get past 1st inning you may win 3 or 4.

good luck
