food for thought..

went in for my 3 month checkup..yea every 3 friggin months they gotta check my entire guts to make sure they don't break down anymore than they have...

tells me if bladder gets any worse they gotta go in and cut..

kidneys are ok for now..don't know how long..

this is just some of the price you pay for.....

ALCOHOL ABUSE

PEOPLE...PLACES and..THINGS..

PEOPLE...change the people you hang w/if they drink to excess...nobody get sober arounds drunks.

PLACES...change the places you go..bars..parties..forget...go to places where a clear mind and sane judgement are required..
birds of a feather flock together..that's is why drunks meet on bar stools.

THINGS...do different things..invest time into health...reading..golf..snowboarding..

one of the biggest excuses I used was "I don't have time."
hell no I didn't have time...I was to busy drinking.

BEST OF LUCK TO ANYONE TRYING TO BEAT THE BEAST...

ONE DAY AT A TIME...

ps..hope this doesn't come off as a sermon..just trying to help...it's what we sober drunks try to do...

My friend quit a year ago...........he said he could handle the shakes, nausea, and all that.....but the sleep was horrible.......he couldn't. Perhaps some Ambien or something to get you through the worst....Good Luck!

As some of you may know, I like the drinky...:drinky: Went cold turkey several months back (lasted 2 weeks). I've tried to quit many times since, but no luck. Seem to cap and feel better on the juice. Anyone who as been In my shoes knows this. I guess any day to quit is as good as the next, so.....Gonna try it one more time. My goal is 1 month....If i make it that far, who knows.... Have to do it on my own, if I'm gonna do it at all.

1 month ago today I posted this..... I still have not had a drink. Feeling a bit better about life. I've reached my initial goal, and in the past would have most likely had a few today to celebrate....As long as I continue to feel better and enjoy life, I don't see why I would need another one. Thanks to all of those who gave support.

My friend it gets better and better...:00hour

When you get a chance please take the time to relate some of the changes that have come about with your sobriety.

How are you liking that clear head every morning?:00hour

Oh !!!! .......and the decision making skills???..heck don't even need to ask that..We need only to read your post in the various forums.
I would still like to read your thoughts on the dramatic changes that occured and surely do and will continue to do w/everyday of continued sobriety.

Are you enjoying that "Happy" and "Relaxed" feeling around the house and at social gatherings?

Isn't it fun kicking the ass of the dreaded DEMON every single friggin' day:00hour :00hour

"Keep Smiling"...Everyday is a building block for the rest of your life...and for everyone you hold dear and love.

"ONE DAY AT A TIME"

Once again you have made my day..

thanks OS..cant wait to experience the birth and first years of my 2nd child sober this time. I have no problem if my friends or relatives get juiced, in fact I sometimes miss the feeling of a good drunk, but I know for a fact, I will never go back down that road. It just wasn't working for me personaly.

again, thanks for the support.

2 YEARS DOWN! :00hour

Hard to believe it's been that long since I've had a drink. I quit on MLK day, or the day after back in 07. Can't remember exactly as I was drunk at the time of my decision. Thanks to all the supporters here at MJ'S. No Question my life has gotten better!!

God Bless...
