Agreed. Someday boxing will be relevant again.

very unlikely..

super athletes can make bigger and easier money in the 3 major sports..

a Hagler or Suger Ray need not take a beating to make millions of dollars now..

Mass media and over-saturated major leagues reguire all the great talent the leagues can find.

there is no major significance to any hand-hand combat anymore..though there are those who would like us to believe otherwise.

The Thrilla in Manila stopped the earth on it's axis..

there aren't to men on earth who can enter the ring now and even stop grown men from working on their fantasy football league lineup .

Everyone says boxing sucks because it's corrupt. They are right. It's corrupt because there is money to be made.

Boxing will make a comeback. Once the ankle twisting MMA craze dies boxing will still be here.

Great athletes will go to football and soccer around the world. But boxing still offers poor kids refuge. It's not the lack of athletes that is ruining boxing. It's the promoters and networks.

MMA is worth billions now.....yep...billions.

For the past 4 years it has exploded year after year.

Boxing will never catch up. The sport is dead.

MMA fastest growing sport on earth.

MMA is on Fox now fo fucks sake.

Had 25 million watching in Brazil alone for last event there.

If you think MMA will die out, you are smoking some nice stuff.

In other words MMA could not be any bigger, it is expanding year after year after year. Major sponsors lining up to get involved.

Boxing is dead. And dying.

To your MMA buds...........they would not have lasted 5 rounds with Sugar Ray..........Just saying:0008
boxing is a skilled art with fists, not the kicking pussies...... do not disrespect the sport kick............I do not care if it is not popular any more, they were men of courage and valor. I boxed in a marine corps West pack champions smoker in Japan, got my ribs broken, and my pride. Sorry, I am old school......I take this shit literally.....:0008

Under boxing rules.....any top boxer will destroy an MMA guy in 1 minute.

Under MMA rules Sugar Ray or Tyson is his prime wouldn't last a minute with any top MMA fighter. They get taken down and tapped out in seconds.

The discussion is pointless.....totally different rules.

And nothing wrong with "old school", he's a good guy.:142smilie

And as a boxer I know it must be depressing seeing your sport all but dead.

Betone....maybe watching two attractive chicks may help ya become more "new school" :142smilie

I very respectfully disagree. Only time will tell and it might be a long time but MMA will fall out of favor and those same athletes will box again.

No doubt the MMA athletes are bad asses. They would be excellent boxers. MMA only seems to be exciting when they box and the interest level falls off for the casual fan when they start turning elbows and locking legs on the mat.

People like watching men fight with fists and not submission style wrestling.

If the MMA guys actually had rules, which is fighting only with there fists ? They would get knocked the fuck out........Just saying, and if the "boxers" had to worry about a bitch kicking there knees......what is next? Knives, or who can pull the trigger faster? Hell, martial arts are martial arts? We had them back in the day and they could have ripped the rib cage out of a guy and pulled his inner body parts out, is that what we are destined to see:shrug:

Pocket Aces.....well I can't read the future, so yep you may be right.

But we are talking like 50 years from now.

It all comes down to marketing and cash. Nobody wants anything to do with boxing.

And when the UFC alone signs TV contracts worth 185 million last year that should tell ya all ya need to know.

Remember MMA is growing year after year after year. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

You'd have to pay a Fox, NBC, ABC or CBS to put on a boxing match in Prime Time.

I can't think of a sport that has declined more then boxing?

Ask any sports fan anywhere in the world to name three boxers. Hell ask em to name two. They can not.

Boxing: Two men battle it out with their fists.

MMA: Two fags roll around and fuck each other.
