Actually, it doesn't help brother. If that happened to you, the spankings, then you certainly wouldn't have thought it a bit over reactive if your parents were terminated and barred from their professions, correct? Imagine your childhood if your parents weren't allowed to work because of public scrutiny? I'm not defending his actions, I'm protesting the punishment. You cannot possibly think that it is okay if you were a security person, janitor, whatever and you do the exact same thing that it would be reasonable to fire that person and not only that but not allow him to work in his trade for a year. in our High School the Asst Principal walked around with a cut down boat oar with holes cut out that whistled when he swung it
but there is NO WAY that you can defend AP went so far over the line and BEAT a 4 YEAR OLD child with those wounds that were taken a week after it happened
I still think a lot of todays problems are kids do not get SPANKINGS ... the problem is those that are getting them are BEATINGS

you and I are 2 of the biggest pet lovers here and I even said that Vick deserves to play in the NFL as he served a very serious penalty that was warranted
AP has lost millions in endorsements and more in his fan perception ... only HE has to live with that and every "fan" has the right to judge for that

Peterson is being paid his entire salary for 2014 he lost nothing except a few endorsements I suppose
There was no grieve. The Vikings were going to play him then all hell broke loose with media and sponsors. The NFL didn't sit him, the Vikes decided to sit him until the matter is resolved, he was not suspended by league and Vikings put him on some list I can't remember what it's called and not looking it up on phone. They pretty much have to pay him cause he has rights he's not convicted of anything.
What he did wasn't right and he is an ignorant man. Did he deserve an entire season? Idk
To the injuries and people saying look how bad the bruises were a week later, that's how bruises work. When I got hit with softball, it looked much worse a week later. At least i thought .
This has nothing to do with AP, ap is paid to run a football. This cop is paid to do his job and he failed and abused authority. Knowing what we know now he is indefensible and if you do defend him then I don't want to read about you bitching about other rights. Some people here think it's on to pick and choose which rights can be messed with

you are correct in bruises look worse after the fact BUT they would not be there if not inflicted WHEN they happened a week earlier which does not make the BEATING look any better ... if not WORSE
I will not compare what he did to any others rights ... its one case and he was WRONG
I do not think he deserves to lose his right to play football ... he has to live with what he did whether he believes it was right or wrong and will be in a court to decide if/what he has to pay for it ... it will affect him financially and in football fans eyes for the rest of his life
Look here you little uppity sumbitch, I never said the cop's story had anything to do with AP. As a matter of fact, land of 10,000 lakes, I specifically noted that they were unrelated.
I am simply trying to point out how easily many are manipulated by the press. This thread is a shining example, I'm not speaking about you or anyone specific, of how easily people are influenced and manipulated by media. I would hazard a guess that 100% of those in this forum that joined in on the fracas that was the AP and Ray Rice story and bitched about what a horrible piece of shit he was have yet to go out into the world and contribute to the cause, or volunteer a solution that would change a damn thing concerning domestic abuse. People only care about something when they're told to, and that all stops the second it ceases to be news. People don't care about a single fucking thing until they're told to, period. Once informed of the trendy new panic they lend false bravado and disgust to the argument. Give me a break. Where is the continued cry for a solution to protect the schools? What happened to that panic?

Those type beatings happen all the time, we just don't care to notice.
What court? What charges? The grand jury refused to indict? The ADA is baking a career decision in the matter I suppose and is trying to prosecute. AP will never "rise for the verdict" concerning this matter. Not gonna happen. He didn't break a single law, not even remotely. So then what? What "price" should he pay your honor?
I guess I didn't write it well. I think what the cop did was worse than what AP did. I may get criticism but the Cop knew he was doing wrong, the Chief says he called in the guy's name 4 minutes before pulling him over and then coming to the window calling him by some other name and saying he looks like somebody wanted knowing the whole time who he was and wasn't that person. Guy in vehicle says he just talked to cop earlier.
AP is just ignorant, he was raised that way and thinks that is proper punishment. He showed remorse because he text momma pretty much saying I think I whooped his ass too harsh. He showed remorse, this isn't a typical child abuse/beating case

AP is going to be found innocent. The judge is already on his side, he told the prosecuter he was being a "media whore." Prosecution tried to get that judge removed and it didn't work. Good Job, AP will be innocent. So you will have an innocent man being punished by an NFL team because of sponsor ship and media pressure. Their will be people pissed about punishing an innocent man.

I didn't know those things, thank you. I can't see why taxpayer cash is being doesn't on a trial. It's ridiculous.
Now this cop..... shouldn't every be allowed to be a cop again. How long has he been a cop? In other words, how many years did it take him to recognize the authority the badge had and decide to abuse that power? To the extent that he was willing to remove children from their family to show how cool he thought he was. This type behavior won't change, he can't get counseling and all of a sudden be a good cop. He should be prosecuted and jailed.
