Pretty easy to look good in a conference at weak as the Pac-10. If the Sooners play a decent game, they should win easily.

For waht it's worth I am not USC fan but I hope they beat the shit out of OU so this bashing of the PAC-10 stops. By the way, I don't think anyone from the big ten should talk about weak conferences.

Again Scott is going to use twisted logic to somehow justify the PAC 10 failing to garner enough teams to fill their bowl allotment. His new reason is that all of these teams did not play Div1AA or bad Div 1A teams but if you examine each of the teams schedules that did not make bowl games you will find that they did indeed play 1AA teams and bad division 1A teams, as they played such stellar teams as Northern Arizona, Idaho (multiple times) and the 11th member of the PAC 10 San Jose State (multiple times). As far as Nebraska playing Maine what the hell does that have to do with anything or than the fact that you have your story wrong. Houston fumbled on the scheduling snafu and is trying to save grace by blaming Nebraska, the Huskers had told Houston that they had to have signed contracts from ESPN within a certain time frame and Houston failed to produce these contracts until after the time frame was over. Nebraska was actually looking forward to going to Houston as they want to reestablish themselves in the recruiting arena down there.

CASE CLOSED....LMAO only in a myopic morons eyes would you even justify putting forth such faulty logic to justify your response. What the hell does Vandy have to do with the strength of the league? So they have not won a championship of the SEC and this says something about how strong the league is? Vandy is a academic institution that is on the level of an Ivy school and football is not a high priority and actually by putting forth that Vandy has not won a championship just shows how strong the league is as Vandy has had some decent teams over the year but not good enough to pass the big boys in the SEC. By the way when was the last time Cal won a league championship? I think it was thirty years ago does this imply they suck? Wow thats great all of those teams have shared the league title, sort of like the American League Central Division in Baseball, where just like the PAC 10 the two frontrunner's can usually boast good records by beating up teams in an inferior league. By the way your wrong on Zona they won a CO PAC 10 title in 93! All of your logic just plays into the strength of the SEC where the top teams have pretty much built a dynasty that they have been able to sustain for generations and the bottom teams cannot produce teams good enough to overcome the dynasty's. Whereas in the PAC 10 your information leads me to believe that the teams cannot sustain long runs of production year in and year out and when one team has a significant better team then the rest of the league they get an inflated record due to the inferiority of the league. Scott,
all I can go by is what I see and as I said I see that the PAC 10 could not fill six bowl slots this year, now we know the league is not in the elite leagues such as SEC, Big 12, ACC, but I will cut you some slack and say they are near the Big 10 but slightly below due to being very bottom heavy with poor teams but the Big 10 was able to fill all of their bowl allotments and surely you would not say they all played weak OOC schedules, so why could the PAC 10 not do this? Very simple answer the league had two solid teams (CAL, USC), one slightly above average team when they play at home (ASU), two average teams (OSU, UCLA), a below average team (Oreg), three poor teams (Stan, WSU, Zona) and one miserable team (Wash). Thus the league came down to a one game match between USC-Cal as both these teams caught ASU on their turf. In between playing each other these teams were able to feast on poor teams thus producing stellar records. Again other than yourself and a select fews computer rating services the vast majority of people that work in college football rank the leagues this way: SEC, Big 12, ACC, Big 10, PAC 10, this includes Corso, Herbstreit, Beano and Maisel, but their al lwrong and biased and Scott is correct.

Master Capper you still don't give an argument why the SEC, Big 12, ACC is superior to the Pac 10.

I never said the Pac 10 is superior but I have shown why the Big 12, SEC, and ACC are not superior to the Pac 10.

You need 6 wins to be bowl eligible. You keep harping about the Pac 10 not filling all their bowl slots. Lets take a look at the OOC schedule of those who did not qualify. Not to mention you were not stating the correct OOC opponents.

Oregon had 5 wins and their OOC schedule was Indiana (L), @OU (L), and Idaho (W). 1 road game! (lost 2 games under 8pts AND 1 game by 1pt)

Washington St. was a 5 win team and their OOC schedule was @New Mexico (W), CO (L), @Idaho (W). 2 road games!

Alabama is a 6 win team going bowling. Their OOC schedule was Utah St. (W), Western Carolina (W), Southern Miss (W). All home games!

South Carolina is a 6 win team (who chose not to go to bowl game because of fight but would have gone bowling) with an OOC schedule of South Florida (W), Troy (W), and @Clemson (L). 1 road game!

WSU 6 road games!
Oregon 5 road games!
S. Carolina 5 road games!
Alabama 4 road games!

How about all 6 BCS computers combined have Big 12 #1, Pac 10 #2!

dr. freeze what a joke of a comparison. You are comparing the top 10 teams of a 12 team conf. vs the top 10 teams from a 10 team conf. You honestly think that was a fair comparison? Maybe you didn't think too hard before posting.

To be fair, you compare top 5 vs bottom 5.

USC vs OU (push)
CAL vs Texas (CAL)
Arizona State vs Texas Tech (push)
Oregon State vs Texas A&M (slightly A&M)
UCLA vs CO (UCLA)
Oregon vs Missouri (Oregon)
Washington State vs Nebraska (WSU)
Stanford vs Kansas (Kansas)
Arizona vs Kansas St. (push)
Washington vs Baylor (push)

UCLA OVER COLORADO LMFAO, didn't UCLA just lose to a team that had not won a bowl game in 37 years? Washington over Baylor, come on now, Washington was garbage this year. BOOHOO we played our non-conf games on the road, so what good teams win regardless of where they play. You forgot to add that many of these teams in the PAC 10 are forced to play road games for paydays. To even try to justify Oreg as a decent team by saying they lost close games is pathetic, were talking about a team that lost outright at home to Indiana so they have no business going to a bowl. I dont need to refute what I am stating with facts and misleading propaganda as you choose to do with excuses such as road games, SOS of nonconf games, disappointment at where your going for a bowl etc... the person going against the grain needs to prove that the PAC 10 is better and so far it has not been proven neither by you nor on the field. Remember Scott, no matter how you dislike it UCLA not only represented UCLA they represented your league and put forth a terrible effort that cannot be changed by your rants and misleading figures. Not only do I feel that the SEC, BIG 12 and ACC are stronger than the PAC 10, I feel that these leagues are MUCH more stronger. The Big 10 has slipped and it may be just a one year blip but even in their slippage they are still better team for team than the PAC 10. Perhaps within five years the PAC 10 can close the gap on these leagues with the addition of some good coaches at Zona, Stanford and Wash but at this point in time there is no chance they are in the league of these conf's.

One bad game by a mediocre team shouldn't indict a whole conference. It's stupid to say that either team in the Orange Bowl is three touchdowns (or more) better than the other. One of them may win by that margin, but the talent, preparation and motivation are pretty even.

I just hope that Auburn gets consideration by the writers for the number one Associated Press ranking. Their non-conference schedule gets ridiculed (deservedly so), but they had Bowling Green back out of playing them (to play the Sooners, no less) and had some very good wins this season. I had little exposure to Oklahoma and Auburn compared to USC this year, but I have them 1) USC, 2) AU, 3) OU.
