No way we hold them to 14...if we do I'll delete my Madjacks account...if it was shitty weather I'd think we could cuz they can't run (nor do they have to)...they'll have 14 by the second quarter, but we'll have at least one point more than them when the fat lady sings...

yeah ya right DR.

as good as this D is that ain't holding Pats to 14..

too many chances for them to score because Peyton led team can no longer dominate the clock..

Truth of the matter is the running game still sucks and will only get worse w/Peyton in the shotgun..

Again the offense is not designed to operate out that formation and the run suffers big time..

going to need a couple turnovers and for Peyton to have the same success or hopefully even more from the dink and dunk passing..

He can't throw 50% of the passing tree any more and the wobblers were a bitch to handle Sunday night..

Tall order to win this game..They can pull it off but it have to be one of the best chess matches he has ever confronted Hoodie with.

Truth of the matter is...Every non Pat fan should be cheering for the first ballot Hall of Famer to get his shot at that 2nd Super Bowl win..

No better way to send this epic performer to the golf course to wear his cool shorts.

The more I think about this Oldy but Goody the more I wonder...we have the inferior QB, but the better receivers...the better RBs but our O line and scheme suffer from the QB mobility and the fact he takes those snaps from pistol or shotgun...we have the better D, but the inferior O....home field....do we get Elway to TRUMP Kuuub and tell him to go hurry up a la Rocky when he went back to southpaw from righty in Rocky 18???

we have Vegas on our side too...and Vegas hates to lose more than I do. ...

Is it Sunday yet??

Dizzy, Sd and the good doctor, please fill me in on the Denver D again. I have a lot of bronco buddys whom also tout their D but I watched every snap of the Pitt game and saw a crib note replay at Bdubs last night and I rarely saw a DB close to a Pitt WR on many routes, and they had tons of room to get some YAC! I feel brady is going to be 100% compared to big ben's less than 70% in my opinion and they rarely got to him so what makes you think they'll get to Brady? In addition hoodie is twice the coach tomlinson is regarding time mgmt and making adjustments on the fly........So what am I missing? I'm looking for another reason to take the broncos other than I feel the line on face value and perception off by at least a FG and NE is the sucker bet. Thanks fellas, I'm all ears!

The speed of NE receiving corps is not that if Pitt. The donkeys were giving them plenty of space off the line so as to not get beat deep (they learned Big Ben could throw it 50 yards after Pitts forst play from scrimmage). I watched the game again last night and the D held them at 10 points for a while after scraping the zone for more man coverage...look it's going to take a herculean effort by the D and no mistakes by the O to win this baby, but I found a chick to marry me with all my deficiencies so anything is possible...

The regular season meeting had Denver winning in OT against a seriously depleted Pats team. They are a lot healthier this game. Pats had control in that game until a rookie who is now back on the practice squad fumbled a punt.

Denver scored 1 late TD last week with incredible field position on several drives, against a suspect Pitt D. The Pats have a better D than Pitt. I can't believe that Pitt didn't pick off any of those wounded ducks Manning was throwing. If the Pats O-line can play any where close to the way they played last week, Brady will have more than enough time to get rid of the ball.

Call me a homer, but I have a hard time seeing the Pats losing to this flawed Denver team.

are CB's just dumb?

are CB's just dumb?

do people not think they know the pats' best way to negate pass rush, is for quick passes?

Wade Phillips looks lost at times, i'll say that - but has proven an NFL caliber def coordinator

With all the talk of Brady's quick release negating the would-be DEN pass rush, wouldn't one of the best corner duos and secondaries, covering receivers also be aware of this, and -i imagine in covering man-to-man-, make those would be quick passes, harder to complete --or at the very least, defended pretty decently?

In watching the Pitt game, (and as some have said) there were clearly huge areas of either miscommunication, or gameplan breakdowns where receivers were catching the ball with no one else even in frame when ball arrived. Everyone watching that must've been curious as to how WRs get THAT wide open. Also too, anyone familiar with the Patriots geniusly coached teams, would think the pats would be salivating at opportunity to run wild through a secondary that plys like that, and take full advantage.

so the whole -what about denvers pass rush? tom bradys quick release answer, isnt as cut and dry as some might think --especially if anticipating same den D on display vs pitt

I was a bit curious as to why Phillips waited so long to press/go man-to-man - as Pitt seemingly had anything they wanted in zone. I expect that press man-to-man, might make these quick hitters harder for Brady to complete than was vs the chiefs. Also too, i know the Patriots are usually a step ahead of the schleps like me, as they too, know a whole helluva lot more than i, and are surely already taken necessary counter maneuvers to give Tom the best chance to succeed.

i know from my limited playing days, that when in man to man coverage, when anyone crosses the field, it makes for the toughest cover for anyone playing straight up. as almost from the first step, the defender is in chase position that if pass completed could stand to be a big gainer, specially if slippery receivers (the likes of White, Amendola and Edelman) break initial tackle(r).
Pitt did this both early -and- late that is what actually gives me more pause than worry about any Patriots 'deep threat -which outside of an undefendable Gronk through the middle, is pretty non-existent
That said, i believe the pats will take one if not multiple shots downfield --to the likes of some unheralded receiver -the likes of a Brian Tyms -inj- or Keshawn Martin). They just kind of have to --imo.

i usually find that teams hardly look identical from week to week - and the pats are the best at looking better the following week (at least more so than the opponents)

NE offense wont be as good this week as last
in this case, i dont imagine the NE offense to click as decently as did at times vs chiefs -- however i expect a slightly better defensive showing from NE -as clearly denver has superior threats in passing game, though more suspect off line, and -lets face it- qb (definitely less mobile, which is BIG plus for NE) - with a slightly lesser running game to have to defend.

Denver offense wont play as conservative

Denver only coming away with 12 points even with ridiculous (for playoffs anyways) field position early, put the onus on their defense to 'win' game -and they definitely should play better (if it yields results vs better D, who knows). The defense played good considering as only really gave up 13 points, while 'felt' like lot more.

still have to solve the slant and quick out to Edleman..

he sets up their whole offense..

..........................

and CJ Anderson need a good day..doesn't have to be great but he must keep that D line honest..

it will take Denver's best to win this game

I just dont see them losing with Edleman and Gronk healthy. Take one of those out of the equation and its still a maybe. My money is on Pats.

I have seen every snap by both teams this season..

the line is what it should be..

Pats are the "smart money" side.

doesn't always cash but it's the truth of the matter this matchup.

Additional Notes
Since 1990, when the NFL Playoffs expanded to 12 teams, there have been 32 Conference Championship games that were rematches from the regular season. In those games, the winner of the last regular season meeting (there were inter-division rematches where the teams had played each other twice in the regular season) went 20-12 straight-up in the Conference Championship game.

In those same games, when a team won the regular season matchup and then was an underdog in the Conference Championship game, the dog went 10-1 against-the-spread.

  • Games Matching this Criteria: Broncos (+3) vs. Patriots.

The whole world is taking Patriots its just too hard for me to believe that Vegas will take a beating two weekends in a row. Thats the only thing that keeps me from hitting submit bet.

the line is what it should be..

Pats -3 in Denver is the same as Pats -9 at home. Too much, IMO, but people are still piling up on the Pats.

I'm thinking that Vegas is loving all this money coming in on the Pats, that's why the line stays right where it is, at 3.

I think taking the 3 points is the smart move but what do I know.

Manning is 5-11 all-time against Brady, however, it's probably also worth noting that the overall record between the two quarterbacks is 2-2 in postseason games, with the home team winning each time.
