"Earl, a retired United States Army lieutenant colonel and Vietnam War veteran, was of mixed African American (50 percent), Chinese (25 percent) and Native American (25 percent) ancestry. Kultida (n?e Punsawad), originally from Thailand, is of mixed Thai (50 percent), Chinese (25 percent), and Dutch (25 percent) ancestry. This makes Woods himself one-quarter Chinese, one-quarter Thai, one-quarter African American, one-eighth Native American, and one-eighth Dutch."

i just call him american

I would certainly agree on american--buts thats not the question.

The question is why is he not recognized by media and others as Asian winner of events but is as African American. With both ancestories being equal.

because he's a black man. i imagine if his dominate features were of an asian he would be labled an asian.

this must be a trick question.

Because:

  • To look at him, he doesn't "look" Asian, he "looks" black.

  • Asians never seem to need "heros", as they go out and become their own role models. They don't sit on their ass whining about how shitty "they've" had it for 300 years. Thus, a black success story sells better.

No trick question--simple genetics

If your going by features I must assume that Tiger's children are then Swedish but next one might be African American--
