No Hogman or Hammy around? I thought they usually get here in the morning
What a card today - huge fields, few dirt bombs, competitive fields (but not like them Breeders, oh no - there are differences between them if you read between the lines), some classy owners and trainers entering decent hosses, etc. Quite often, Philly runs better quality and more betable fields on Monday or Tues. than on Sat. I wrote about it right in this forum how I got suckered into doing some HEAVY betting on a day like this which was the day after I had a very (and I mean VERY) good day here.. and paid the price for taking the bait - did I ever! NOT THIS TIME. But I got a feeling, just by seeing this card, that I'll probably go a little heavy on 2 or 3 of these waces today. Just hope it doesn't lighten up too much the heavy bag of loot I'll be draggins along with me after yesterday.
Funny thing is that I did mark the 2nd and 3rd race as "PROB. playable" but AFTER I went over them - thems too tough.
4th race: bring a rubber band along today cause it looks like there'll be plenty of tickets on races like this one where a PRICE looks iminent (how's that 50 cent word? LOL). Except for the no. 1 and 4, the picks look like poopies on paper and don't figure, but I'm getting some good vibes on a few in this race that will pay off big IF I'm right....
Zacktas: 7,8 top/bot 1,4,5,11,12 AND 3 horses that could light up the toteboard if one wins -> nos. 5,7,11 to win (maybe win/place?). Even at ONE stinkin dollar tickets the zacks will cost $20 but that's the cost of giving yourself a shot at nailing something really worth while in this race. On paper, the 7 and the 8 don't look like anything but I think either may be able to handle this field. Both come out of the same race at Monmouth and the 8 ran/finished much better. But, push come to shove as they say - I'd go with the 7. FACT IS - I'm really "going with" both cause I sure as hell don't want that no. 8 hoss beating me.
JUST REMEMBERED, big day for HM today.
First time voter ya know.
I should be able to come back later today.
