Jack, you sincerely recommend, bodog? I have done business with cris, Greek, 5dimes,vip,bj, and can recommend any of them. Solid books, just don't get the reduced juice like pinnacle.

I was always leery of the giant bonuses bodog was giving, although this was couple years back, maybe things changed.

id steer clear of bodog as many would agree.

while their standard 10% bonus is appealing, they offer horrible sides, terrible juice, offer limited moneylines, put lines up only when they feel most comfortable, can't buy pts on some games, sh!t like that.

bodog pays but they don't like winners and will limit or boot winners. they have soft lines and will not let sharps take advantage of them.

They deal dual lines as well -- if they pick up on a betting pattern.

Better outs out there in my opinion.

my 2 cents:

i was shocked this morning. did an immediate neteller withdrawl, but haven't received it yet. i'm not worried. it'll come through. i also emailed them and told them to pay the 15 fee because its not my fault its the second withdrawl in a month and they said they would.

i was an ardent supporter of pinnacle. something is going on behind the scenes nobody hear knows about and i suspect jack will be the first to hear it. their biggest betting days as with many books are super sunday, and the super bowl. for them to shut down before the superbowl something major has to be going on. it doesn't make sense otherwise. maybe their owner got pinched or they cut a deal or something, i'm not privy too and i don't want to speculate bad information or guesses. I would just withdrawl your money unless you enjoy 0.01 cent wagers. BOS left a bad taste in peoples mouth along with camelot and blue marlin and others in the past. i always thought if pinnacle went down the offshore industry would. only time will tell, but this is a big loss for a lot of people.

jack has a good list of sponsors and i won't say anything about them. as for my personal opinion, the only book i would really feel comfortable in right now is wsex because those guys friggin HATE the us government and will go to bat for us players if only to spite the us government. but that's just me. i'm sure spiro at oly and bet jam is thriled about this and maybe you could put funds there. i trust jack to go to bat for you on any of his sponsors, but there is only so mych he can do. theres plenty of bad history books.

the only thing i can say to be safe is don't keep a large balance anywhere. ESPECIALLY after the superbowl. pay the money to get withdrawls.

it will be interesting to see how this unfolds, but it really is a scary day. frist ****ed everyone. something is going on and we dont' know the depth of it yet and won't for some time. keep low balances and be careful of lower tier books as the superbowl ends.

time will tell, but this really puts a big dent in the industry. but as jack and others have said before, market demands will put something new up there. it will just be different and take time.

BUT, if neteller goes down or you can't process transactions from that, then we are in for a real fight.

my advice, get your funds out of pinnacle. keep low balances, and hope for the best. their really isn't much you can do. but the government isn't after the bettor, at least not now, they are after the people accepting them.

gl and hope for the best is all you can do

So where will you bet BDB? Local?

Also, I agree other books are licking their chops and happy, but again using the insurance example, many will "buy" the business with good rates (juice, lines) etc., but slowly jack it up over time.

I dont feel safe putting any money in a book now, which is a real shame.

And BTW, 20,000 more troops to Iraq:scared :scared :scared

My GOD who have we become....:scared

"The only reduced juice we will now see will be in our Minute Maid cartons left spoiling in the refrigerator. Thank you Lobbyists, Thank you child-molesting Senators, thank you moralists who decide what is right for me. As a God-fearing, tax paying, productive American citizen I thank you from the bottom of my heart for saving me from the evils of online gaming and those terroristic threats operating under the guise of Banana Republics."

You guys just need a local that uses an offshore to take plays. That's my favorite way to go. I get all of the benefits of the online book and I can meet my guy around the corner whenever I want. And more importantly, I don't have thousands of dollars tied up offshore that I will have anxiety about from time to time (ie today).

Been with WSEX for as long as I can remember. Payouts are timely! The only complaint is that they don't post overnight lines and moneylines on all games. Other than that, they have been solid.

I completely agree. My local uses an offshore to place all action, and we just settle up when the time is right. Easy as pie.

On the course!
"Fortunately, 35-40% of our current gambling business is non US driven....."

Wow! Nice to know you can afford to lose 60-65%of your business, and keep a positive outlook!

I agree with BDB on the point about timing. This is one of the most prime times for sports betting! The NFL post season is a killer for these guys, so to be shutting down now sure seems to stink of something.

don't know if this is the place for this. delete it if its not. But I have no idea how to go about finding a local bookie. I heard you get to know bartender and ask them but somehow I don't think the young kids that run the local bars around here that know me have any clue. If anything, they would probably laugh at me and tell me I have a gambling program. I know there are a few posters on here from my area. If anyone can be of any help let me know. Get my email from Jack if you can

Go to a golf club. Get in on a game of cards and you'll find one or find a local hold em game. I guarantee at least one of the guys is a book.

The decision to withdraw from the US market is very curious by PINNY (as one poster alluded to) so close to Super Bowl Sunday, which is nothing more than balancing the books for this book, and collecting a nice payday by the juice. I agree with BDB....something is going on behind the scenes that Pinny will probably keep on the QT.

Something Ironic the other night made me want to puke........Senator MCCain at the National Championship game......ughhhh

The sky is most definately not falling as several have made aspirations (although there is a comet coming in 2029:mj07: ) I talked to two books this a.m. and they have no intentions of leaving the US Market. This may have more to do with the island of Curacao and the US Govt. Books that are solvent in Costa Rica are not going anywhere.......and so what if NETELLER goes down??? People are getting very lazy. There are many ways to fund a book without Neteller. I think people have got too attracted to the convenience involved. There will always be an offshore book to gamble with, ways to deposit and withdraw your money.

IMO......give Jack a break. He has no control of his sponsors, nor their decisions. PINNY was a great book and a solid out, but there are soooo many others that will be happy to take your wagers. This is a very lucrative business for the book.........one in which they had made the decision long ago to buck the US Govt......I don't think they are going to be running scared now. US policy simply doesn't affect them. Its when they start snatching up the "player" for making an offshore bet, that I would worry. I would be way more concerned playing with a local than I would would with 5 DIMES, BETGAMEDAY, WSEX, CARIB, the GREEK.....................3 of those books offer early overnight lines.........and have easy deposit methods (other than NEteller) all you have to do is call customer service.

Life will go on! :SIB

I haven't heard anything yet. I did request a withdrawl, but have the same situation as you(still a balance) I feared this day, hopefully it works out on withdrawls. Problem is I just put in a future for the 08 BCS game, plus I have several futures on NFL, makes you wonder if that money will be lost.
