I dont post much at all in anything other than soccer but laying here watching the Irish got me thinking so I went and checked
First let me start by saying, no I don?t think college playoff should be expanded (will just water it down more). Personally I don?t think we need a playoff at all. When the top 2 teams are favored by 2 touchdowns over teams 3-4 we know who the best teams are. What we do need, since we have 4 teams is to get the ?best? teams in not those with the best records. There?s a reason central Florida is not in and regardless if a team is undefeated if they are not in the top 4 let?s please let them go to the ?Mr Clean bowl? or something.
And just quickly scanning, who did the Irish beat this year? A Michigan team that beats up on non power teams, a mediocre Hokie team, mediocre Stanford team, mediocre usc team. A Syracuse team that lost to every good team they played, a bad Seminole team Vanderbilt? Wake forest? Ball state ? I mean outside Of pitt they had no competition! [emoji1440]*[emoji3601]
Looking at that ?body of work? as the committee likes to say, how did they determine this team to be a top 4 side?
Honest question for honest conversation. Does anyone disagree and think this Irish team fully deserved a top 4 ranking based on who they beat this year ?
