Possibly moving to Atlanta

My boss had a talk with me today. They are restructuring our HR Department in the coming year and he's interested in relocating me to our Atlanta office for me to become the office administrator. So what are the pros and cons here? I know there are several folks that can weigh in. I'd love to hear from you. I like Charlotte but I'm not married to the idea of being there long term. And I think that may be the case with Atlanta too.

All of this just got dropped in my lap this afternoon so I'm in the beginning stages of processing it all. Let me know what you all think.

I hate Atlanta but that is mostly due to the TRAFFIC!

1st thing I would say is get a place close to your office

it is a good place for a young single dude like yourself :0074

Wine and Ga Ben can give you better advice as they are both there and live in 2 totally different areas

Pro's - Tons of golf courses lots of fine dining restaurants and awesome Chinese takeout joints AND SUSHI!!!!!!! Close to the gulf. Great concerts and activities for families and couples. (They have a crawfish and beer event AND eggtoberfest!!!) Closer to Augusta National and a GREAT selection of really nice movie theaters. Some of the best hospitals/doctors in the country. Starbucks on every goddamned corner, cigar bars and about 900 Costco's to choose from and WINEGUY LIVES IN FUCKING ATLANTA!!!!!!!!! THAT IS REASON ENOUGH MUTHERFUCKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


Cons: Traffic and shit-ass hipsters.

P.S. Not to mention more pay from your job and moving UP the corporate ladder, knucklehead.

Mini golf was first thought of as a way for avid golfers to improve their putting. In America, during The Great Depression most of the mini golf courses were forces to close due to he economic climate. When America emerged from its depression, mini golf courses were reopened and rebuilt into a family entertainment option.


Mini golf or "Putt Putt is big in Atlanta, and there are a variety of great courses to choose from.


Monster Mini Golf - If you want a indoor and scary dark miniature golf experience, this is the one for you. The monster themed decor and tough layout will impress any mini golf aficionado. There is a DJ on the premises playing music and entertaining the masses. The facility also contains an arcade to use while you are waiting. I have to give this place two-thumbs up.

Pirate's Cove - They claim on their website they were voted "Best in Atlanta", I'm not sure by who. They do have a nice facility, and it's easy to get to in Gwinnett, right off of 85. It's clean and a well maintained course. It's open year round and the staff is super friendly. The decor is everything from waterfalls and rivers to go along with the pirate themed holes. There is enough going on here to distract you from your putting. A great place to take the kids to.

Great Locomotive Chase Adventure Golf - If you are ever stuck at Stone Mountain Park, you might want to check out this mini golf course located at the Railroad Depot in Crossroads. The cost is nothing if you have a One-Day Adventure Pass and the Mountain Membership. the 18 holes are fun and of course they have a railroad theme. You'll see an old fashioned water tower, you'll go through a dark train tunnel, and see some history along the way. The course fits in nicely at the park and there usually isn't much of a wait.

What area of Atlanta is the office in? I will defer to others on the idea of living inside the perimeter as I would never even think of doing that, but knowing your general location would help with suggestions/ideas.

Exactly right. Couple of very big con's if you live or work in Atlanta proper. Hopefully your Costco will be in the burbs. Good luck with your decision.

Lots to do in midtown and plenty of places to live nearby if condo/apartment living is your thing. Here is a link to midtown info as well as info from the surrounding areas including the burbs.
