Right behind you
the day will come that an uprising will take place

That's the ultimate tin foil hat fantasy. An uprising? Just who do you think will rise up?

Capitalists who need a sound economy to milk for profits?

The totally ignorant and unemployable?

The working class which is addicted to public works, handouts (Medicare, Social Security)?

The Military, the ultimate example of socialism, where you get to remain employed and promoted for doing nothing?

The unions of teachers, industrial workers, police and firefighters?

And who will lead this uprising - Ralph Nader or Ron Paul, neither of whom can get 2% support in an election?

Maybe you think it'll be the Keyboard Kommandos of the NRA, most of whom are too fat, lazy and stupid to put down their beer cans and heave themselves off the couch.

There will be no uprising. There was none in Rome, there was none in Nazi Germany. there was none in Stalinist Russia, none in Pol Pot's Cambodia, and there will be none here.

Either we elect intelligent and honest leaders or we are doomed. I'm giving 100:1 on the later.

?Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it? - George Santayana

I shall look into,

but right now a thread I started, hoping to have a discussion, a solution for the FUBAR status we are in as a Nation has gone sideways with a elementary school sand fight. I know I have gone sideways in a few threads, but I don't, rarely do I start calling people names.

Maybe we should all again, reread JAck's rules, start a start a real solid list, and then acknowledge that we agree to some simple and maybe not so simple rules ? I, have NOT posted at least 5 replies that have started based on anger and too much emotion. I stepped off, reread the post and decided, "this will start too much shit" and have deleted the post.

MJ's is a Microcosm of society, and we will never agree on everything, but I know this, if I were to hang out with a handful of members at a bar I know for sure 100% that I would not fire off the things that are said here. Maybe "pussy" used in the correct context, but I sure haven't seen that used here. It's not like anyone here is jumping out of a plane and they "pussed out" :scared Maybe that should be a MJ's get together? A huge jump in Vegas, free fall or tandem, either way, it will certainly pump you up !

HIGH SPEED DIRT

I have grown tired of the bullshit arguing and name calling. It solves nothing.

I honestly think the Republicans might have a formidable opponent or two. Pawlenty will make a good show, be comfortable for most republicans, well spoken and a good rival for Obama in discussions and policy. He will presumably have the backing of everyone not democrat when it comes down to the end game, and is a viable candidate. Assume Romney will have plenty of support, and he impresses me as a strong candidate. I think there are a handful of other decent candidates.

But if Gingrich runs and gets a lot of support, I think the party is doomed to lose, and rightfully so. He's a piece of crap in my book, and unworthy of support from anyone. The things he pulled with his ex wives, his holier-than-thou religious assessments of others, then completely switching religions from Baptist to Catholic? Gee, no reason to be suspicious of that, is there? A few votes and new supporters come about from that twinkle he saw in the Pope's eye?

What a joke. Gingrich is a loser, in more ways than one, for the republican party.

The Republican party under leaders like Bush, Cheney, Gingrich and others have cut taxes for the rich, screwed the middle class, courted the right-wing fruitcakes and sold the country down the twin shitholes of Chinese manufacturing and a bogus war.

Only 20% of voters now call themselves republicans. That's the same 20% who think Obama is a Kenyan and the earth is 6000 years old...and flat.

I hope those fruitcakes nominate Gingrich and Palin. That will end the republican party once and for all.

Then maybe a thinking and honest conservative party can arise.

On spite of the turds who now lead the republican party, it is possible to be both intelligent and conservative.

Hell, they had a chance to clinch the presidency with Colin Powell, and threw him in the ditch for John McShame.

I think O has very good chance of serving another term regardless of what happens in his 1st term.

His 1st term could be total failure but he will still get near 100% of black vote--66% hispanic vote and 80% of liberal vote--He only needs 22% of remaining voters.

However his 2nd term will be much more productive as he will not have Dem majority in congress and he will have experience this time after 4 years in office.

He will still have a democratic majority in Congress when he gets re-elected in 2012. He has not been effective at all, but W set the Republican party back so far that the dems could run Pol Pot and get him elected.

Oh, and i'm still waiting for you to get back to me from like 5 years ago on why Asians and Jewish people also vote strongly democratic. You always seem to forget that they are part of 'Da base' as well.

You said that you would look into it. Anything yet?
