Other than the obvious "shoot them" which I can't do because I live in a residential area and I have kids playing outside to the north, south, and east. I have really tried to research this on the net, and I have found zilch. I have 3 large pine trees in my backyard that are full of the foul things. Their squawking is constant, and the whole understory in that area is covered with droppings.
I'm talking about blackbirds (Common Grackle). These pests are also protected somewhat since they are considered migratory  :nono: I can get a nuisance permit though as it's easily proven how much they are screwing up my property, and histoplasmosis is abundantly common here.
I've been looking for something to poison them with, and I've found nothing there either. I wonder if I could buy some D-Con and crush it up in some bread that they would eat?? I think that's what was in the pet food in the recent deaths of all the pets, wasn't it?
If anybody knows anything about this sort of problem, please post.
Also, spraying them with soapy water is out because it's not wintertime, and that's too big of an undertaking to do.
