My call is to go by the standings. It's the fairest way. It's the only way.

If Burns wants to give up his seat, it goes to the next person in the standings and if that person wants to give it up, it goes to the next in the standings.

The fairest way of all.

Or, we go by the rules and Burns can't transfer it. If he wanted to give the seat to his neighbor Roy Smith, I would step in and say non-transferable because that's the rule, but giving it to the next finisher in the contest is fair and agreeable by me.

For honesty's sake,

I dropped out totally because of the no transfer rule. I was on the fence as to whether I could go. I certainly wanted to go but there was no way I could confirm spending thousands on airfare. So I bowed out.

Yeah, I've made this more difficult than it is. Burns gives up his seat, it goes to gmroz. It's actually very simple.

Sorry if I've made this difficult, just kind of thought that this would automatically go to the next finisher - had no intention of winning and not being able to go, and if there was nothing that could be done I would have shaken things up a bit and made arrangements to go myself


Spoke to dunclock last night as at the time it looked like he would likely finish behind me and I wanted to make sure that someone else definitely wanted the trip before I even brought any of this up

Tough decision for me as I would really like to go, esp to play in the tourney, and I will likely regret not going - just looked like there were others that really wanted to go and were upset about losing out and that made my decision easier - and again just assumed that the next finisher would be in line

Everything is set now and you assumed correctly about the next finisher taking the seat.

I guess seeing that you had already talked to dunclock sent me off track but it's settled now.

No problem Jack, I knew I basically had to make the decision last night or never for logistical purposes and after talking to dunclock decided pulling out was likely the best decision

Here's the thing.

I did say no transfers in the rules. I stick to that and I am off the hook, period, and I don't have to feel bad about anything. The best records won, plain and simple.

Prior to the start of the contest, I spoke to woodson and he wasn't sure if he would be able to go. He told me he would just give his trip to gmroz if he happened to win. I told him that was okay.

But, I already had made the "no transfer" rule and after thinking about it overnight I told him that it wouldn't really be fair to everybody.

Then, I made it even more clear in the rules that there would be no transfers. He then told me to take him off the contest and I did.

Now we have a player that won and is willing to give up his seat, and he offered it. We have two, maybe more players, that would love to have that seat. What is the fairest thing to do?

Probably going by the standings is the fairest thing to do.

Any feedback here?

The fairest thing to do is give the trip to the next place in line... LA Burns called me because he thought I was next in line and wanted to make sure I still wanted to go if he could not pull it off and I said absolutely but this contest was all MadJack and it would be up to him how he handles it if Burns could not make it {very nice guy Burns and thanks for the call}

Jack is doing the fairest thing and giving Burns seat to Gary who finished 3rd....you guys have a great time{how could you not} and bring home some cash!
