Consider This.............

If you can start the day without caffeine,

If you can get going without pep pills,

If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches & pains,

If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles,

If you can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it,

If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time,

If you can overlook it when those you love take it out on you when, though no fault of yours, something goes wrong,

If you can take criticism and blame without resentment,

If you can ignore a friends limited education and never correct him/her,

If you can resist treating a rich friend better than a poor friend,

If you can face the world without lies and deceit,

If you can conquer tension without medical help,

If you can relax without liquor,

If you can sleep without the aid of drugs,

If you can honestly say that deep in your heart you have no prejudice against creed, color, religion, or politics,

Then, my friend,

You are ALMOST as good as your dog..

Jack, sorry to hear about your dog.I had a healthy 6 yr boxer suddenly die of a sizure 6 months ago.
Yest. through "Boxer angel recue" my wife brought home a 2 yr old boxer that was in an animal shelter and then foster homes.Beautiful dog.But I needed the 6 months to get over the other one passing away.
Dogs, cats and other pets are almost like kids.
We almost adopted a white boxer that was deaf. You signal with your hands and use a flashlight.I wanted to adopt it but it was a "spit'in image of the one that passed away.Looked identical.
But I was ready for the challenge.I come home from school and all 3 kids have done nothing in the house.Garbage full, dishes piled up in the sink, house a mess. And there watching TV.....
I figured I could flash the light at the dog and signal and then flash the light at my kids and signal to load the dishwasher, make your beds, etc.
Anyway the new boxer is so pretty and has such a great disposition.
But its still so hard when I think about the other one.
Again sorry about Gracie.Time heals but I'm sure she had a great 'run"with you.

Jack, some people don't have kids, so pets are their children. Do ever think postuing the loss of your beloved pet on YOUR website, would be in bad taste.

Sorry for your loss:(

it is in good taste. when you lose a pet you have had for years you should feel grief.

thanks

Our thought's go out to you. I know how special she was and how we use to talk about how she use to love to be let outside in the snow then as soon as you were upstairs she would bark to come in just to mess with you :) I know how you feel when Stanley went on to his next life it hurt a lot they are part of our family. You will remember the great times she gave you in your heart as i know she will always remember they great way you took care of her.

"the bunker"
just like family

just like family

and you feel like it`s your responsibility to take care of them and protect them....just like children.......

i`m not sappy but i am always torn up when a pet dies...it`s horrible...

then you hear about these morons that get pleasure out of maiming or killing animals...makes you sick and angry...i have had nightmares about stumbling onto someone hurting an innocent animal...i know i would be doing jailtime...

be happy that you were able to provide a good home and life for gracie.....you were lucky....and she was lucky....
