If this is actually true..........then wow:scared

Of course we all know that Randy, Fedor, and Brock need to beat Kimbo first....but still this is huge news:142smilie

Man oh man oh man do I hope this is true.........:142hump:

And if this news is true......I will be wagering my left testicle, my right arm, my two legs and part of my spleen on Randy vs. Lesner. There is no way in living hell that Randy would lose to Brock if he knew he'd be fighting Fedor next!

They should make a heavy-heavyweight class just for Lesnar...... he can fight other gorillas & what not.

Sounds like UFC trying to put a stamp on Randy's career. :0corn

Lesnar has very little chance of beating Randy. Lesnar only chance is to do what he does best. Get on top with his size and not let the guy move for 3 rounds until he gets the boring win(See Herring fight). Unlike Herring, Randy would find a way to submit him anyway.

Believe it when it is announced anyway. I doubt this happens. Randy will only do it with Fedor on board and that just ain't gonna happen with Dana White calling the shots.

It will be very big news if it's true. IMO a Lesnar vs Randy fight would draw some bigggg numbers. I would be very intersted to see it myself. I can't stand Lesnar after his antics in his last fight but his raw power and quickness for his size is something special.

Saying that, I think Randy is way overated but not that overated. I think he finds a way to win this fight. He's not the sub king but Lesnar is too green still. I hope Randy wins because is he does and a fight vs Fedor does happen, I will be betting my single largest wage of my life on Fedor. So here's to Randy winning. lol

IT'S OFFICIAL...AND RANDY SEEMS TO BE STAYING IN THE UFC, NOT JUST FOR 1 FIGHT!!

After a very public split with the organization back in October, reigning UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture has agreed to return to the UFC, and he'll meet Brock Lesnar in a UFC 91 championship bout with Brock Lesnar.

UFC President Dana White today confirmed the news in a media conference call.

White also confirmed that UFC 91 will take place Nov. 15 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas -- not at the Rose Garden Arena in Portland, Ore., as first expected.

As part of Couture's return to competition, White confirmed that their ongoing legal battle has been resolved.

"I think some comprises were made on both sides," Couture said.

"All I give a [expletive] about is that he's back and fighting," White said.

White also confirmed that the winner of an upcoming fight between interim heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Frank Mir will meet the Couture vs. Lesnar winner sometime in 2009 to unify the titles.

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) will have more on this story in the next hour.

i don't put much weight into belts, the fights are what's important, belts are just an accessory. however, that randy is still considered the belt holder and will be defending that belt against brock is absurd.

that it's a 5 rounder will likely help randy provided he can survive the early going.

Yea, I found that odd as well....... that there will be a "title unification bout" between Big Nog and winner of Couture/Lesnar, but they did always call Nog the "interim titleholder" while waiting for Couture's contract to expire.

Damn, Lesnar just said he cuts 15lbs to get down to 265. That means he's easily back up to 280 by fight time. That's a toonnnnnnnnn of weight. Most guys that have been that big in the past are slow and not athletic. If Randy can't submit him this could be interesting. We haven't seen Brock's chin tested yet but something tells me he can take a hit. Oh well, if he wins then maybe we'll get some ridiculous odds on him vs Nog. Nog would eat his lunch with a sub.

At least they have us talking about the HW division. Dana seems to think Affliction is going under and then potentially he can get Fedor. I can't even imagine what big Tim is thinking right now, he's really F'd on this situation. I can't see the UFC bringing him back, i guess I could be wrong but I doubt they will.

His last fight, he told Rogan after Rogan asked him what he weight at fight time, and Lesnar said something to the extent of 295lb mac-truck. LOL

Does Brock think he can out wrestle Randy?

He can over power him that is for sure, but it will just be a matter of time before Randy grabs a limb and it will be all over.

from what i remember, randy has only 2 subs, vs tony halme and mike van arsdale. and on top of that i can only recall him attempting 2 other subs, an RNC against sylvia and an armbar against randleman. i don't think randy has the sub skills to tap brock, even if brock is fairly new to subs.

i'm sure in sparring, randy has some subs, but until i see it during a fight i'm going to assume he's a gym fighter in that respect.

Why is this a 5 round fight or is that a misprint? Kegray why is the winner getting a fight with the winner of Nog and Mir? Why they dissing Kimbo?

it's for the HW belt. they're giving a 2-1 fighter a title shot.

Randy will have no choice to go for a submission because Brock will not stand with him and Brock will leave that piece of meat he calls an arm hanging for a quick roll over armbar. Hell, Herring almost did it and he has not submitted people in years.

No one is dissing Kimbo, the UFC is the minors and Elite is the majors of MMA. Every real MMA fan knows that. Where else can you see an undefeated beast fight a savvy ex champion on free tv.

5 rounder because Randy has the belt.

The winner will fight the winner of Noguiera and Mir in 2009 to unify the titles. It is for the title because Nogueira is only the interim champ. Couture is and has always been the current champion.

I agree, muhr.

I think it's clear that Couture would have a submission-based gameplan against Brock, but i'm not sure that's good enough. Lesnar should know that Randy's only realistic chance of stopping him is by sub, and for that reason, try and keep it standing.. And after seeing that first punch Lesnar hit Herring w/, Lesnar's fists coming at u isn't a good thing. :nono: It's gonna hurt.

As far as subs go, IMO Lesnar is most vulnerable to chokes and kneebar/leglock type of subs.... these r generally done on the ground (surprise), where Lesnar shouldnt wanna go, but then again he doesnt seem so bright. :look: Not that Couture couldnt climb up and take Lesnar's back standing, but he's gotta walk through those XXXL bear paws Brock has! :scared Im pretty sure the guy could bicep curl almost anyone in the heavyweight division  , making it hard to set in an armbar.

:00x32

My gut says Brock will win. I feel like it will be a Captain America superhero victory if Randy pulls it out... especially after not fighting in quite a while. I still cant believe Mir was able to take him out. Subbing a 300 lb behemoth never looked so easy. :SIB
