there are teams that are interested in smith, believe it or not.....there were 5 openly interested in the offseason..

as i said...this is why newsome`s there...get creative...when this level talent falls in your lap ,be proactive...like dallas was...

Not to question you my friend, but I read everything about football & I never saw anywhere near 5 teams interested in Smith....but I can be wrong.

they could have exchanged position(2nd to 3rd)...dangle troy smith(who wants out) or clayton....

throw a later round pick in there....

that`s what they`re paying newsome for...to be creative....

Troy Smith would not have gotten us anywhere and Clayton at best nets us a sixth rounder.

We were short on picks this year in a super deep draft and you wanna get rid of what we had left for Dez?

We have multiple needs if you did not know.

I am glad they hired Ozzie and not you.

He wanted out and to go to cleveland and they had no interest.

Trust me it would only take a very late pick to get him and no one has come close to offering that.

I will say it again ravens gonna get Cody.

They like him to be the big run stopper.

If they think he has the work effort and can be a player I trust them.

They are the only team that has its own complete scouting system they do not go with the people the other teams use.

You may be right....I saw somebody also picked cody in their mock & another guy picked Carlos Dunlap from Fla.

From NFL.com:

Kindle is a two-year starter for the Longhorns as a defensive end but many will try and project him to outside linebacker in the NFL. He has a good combination of length and athleticism but lacks the bulk needs to be an effective run defender at the next level. He has been a disruptive force penetrating the line of scrimmage in the Longhorns 4-3 front. Kindle runs well but doesn?t have elite speed or range for a stand up player and will need lots of work developing his coverage techniques and awareness. He is inconsistent using his hands to maintain leverage on his opponent and will need to improve in this area both as a pass rusher as well as run defender. Kindle does play hard and has a frame to add at least 20 pounds, which bodes well for his potential as a special team?s contributor as well being utilized as a backup linebacker or edge rusher in sub packages.

From Gil Brandt: (had Kindle in 4th tier)

Outstanding athlete who was named high school player of the year for both offense (as a running back) and defense, something that had never been done in modern history. He can rush the passer or drop into space. Was outstanding vs. Alabama in the BCS title game.
